I’ve used these for my watercolor class at a University. I didn’t have issues with these, although I bought the tube set of 24. Someone even bought my art from an art gallery since we were to create something for it. 😊 Nice set. Oh, the key is to spray your canvas with water before use.

Played this and am running this as a DM. The map issue was the biggest thing for VTT usage. There were a few I was able to find online. This is a great one shot and most prep time was the maps and making the sheet for Caledor.

I know this is an old video but an fyi based on what you said about the fire web recharge, thats not how recharge works. it doesnt recharge 5 or 6 times. it means it only recharges if the spider rolls a 5 or 6 at the start of its turn

Running this for some new players tonight. I had hoped to run the trilogy of intro adventures that go with this one, but the 2nd and 3rd part make a hard left turn in tone and get super dark. Didn't really fit the fun tone of the first.

Thanks for this review. But fellow players be warned, there are traps in this module that can outright kill lvl 1 parties. 5-D6 roll on poison arrows is a serious threat. So for some, toning down the damage can be ideal for an early D&D experience.

This has to be a paid review. I bought one of these and within minutes of use the bristles started coming out. Not just a few but they were falling out like the brush was on chemotherapy - no offense intended. Spend your money on a known quality brush.

i enjoyed running this for new players too. i kept the number of rats at the beginning higher and it put the fear of death into the players. this made it a great setup for tomb of annihilation. thanks for the review!

I've been using both for pro illustration work (at souliotissa on IG). These are not supposed to do mixes with, especially the vintage pastels one. They're like gouache mostly. Lined illustrations (e.g. children's book illustrations) would work fine with these sets. Having said that, the Pastel Dreams is not a true pastel set. Both the two yellows and the two browns are NOT pastel colors. What was needed there was something like the "mocha" color, and a jaune brilliant. These are true pastel equivalents of browns and yellows. So I've replaced these 4 colors with others from other companies to get true pastel colors. As for the vintage set, the black does not belong there. On all cases I've seen on instagram, when the artist starts using the black, the pastel feeling completely evaporates. What was needed instead, is a pale blue (it only includes a lavender color, so that's missing from that set). You can mix one with prussian blue, white, AND a black (the vintage colors are tinted with both white and grey/black, which makes them muted). Finally, because one set is muted and the other one is high chroma, I would not use them together. They retain more of their personality when they stay alone.
