Jerry tips his hat to the legendary Eric Clapton.
Grateful Dead ~ Rubin and Cherise, Orlando 4-7-91

Arguably the best of the 4 times the Dead ever played this tune, and only in 1991. Home video footage mixed with a higher quality soundboard audio source. Cherise was brushing her long hair gently down It was the afternoon of carnival as she brushes it gently down Rubin was strumming his painted mandolin It was inlaid with a pretty face in jade played in the carnival parade Cherise was dressing...

this has been my favorite video of this song for over a decade. So much intensity and sadness.
This brings me such tremendous joy...and profound sadness at the same time..how is that possible
There will never be another Jerry in this lifetime ! ❤️🐰🐇🌹💀☠️⚡️🥀🪽🕊️🌙👽🪐🛸🚀💥✨🌟😇🤩🥳love is all we got
Hello Bobby and his frs
Long live ripple. My favorite song from Patti Cornell
I was there!
Pure beauty.
My hometown
It was a fun night
Know jah , no fear. Be good family 😊❤
Was at this O-Rena show. Thought I was hallucinating when they started this song. Turns out I was…
The greatest Grateful Dead song that never was.
Truly a magician.
Solo: 2:45 Pair: 3:02
I love this song
You can learn to count the complex rhythm changes here: ruclips.net/video/XHUDd1txPtQ/видео.html
If you did not dance for this song from start to the end of the epic last 3 + minute jam you must have been Dead. The Philly version I think was better.
So Ronnie Tutt (yes i know it's Billy here) played this song with both Garcia and Elvis. If anyone had an interesting time in the 70s it's certainly Ronnie Tutt.
Watch out for that bass player beside you Jerry, he looks like he's up to no good.
found the cure for my depression. it's Jerry covering Lay Down Sally
It's anything played by Jerry Garcia ever. For me at least
Vince's keys work perfectly for this song
I was lucky to catch a lot of shows on this tour, including these Orlando shows and the first Ruben & Cerise in Landover. Amazing stuff! Also the nice Dark Star in Greensboro. Ah, to be young and on the road...
funny that in some places this same interview is listed as Garcia is afraid of the Hell's Angels. Look at the reality of the situation. In all of the 1960s and 1970s no other band was tighter with the Angels and bikers on general than the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead were essentially the official band of the Hell's Angels throughout the '60s and '70s. The first time I posted on this topic on Instagram, George Christie replied to me on how he was picking up and hanging with Garcia into the '90s.
Thank you very much!!!!
I was at this show and I remember NONE of it
Jerry received vibes from Bruce. I attended this run. This night was the best.
tiger
One of my favorite songs. Now I finally know the lyrics--and it is even better!
I never forget the pure joy&excitement of being there on the right night.Magic!! I miss you Sugaree,Ray&Laura J.
I'd swear to it on my very soul, If I lie, may I fall down cold... SO TIGHT!!!! :)
If you could see my heart, you'd know it's true. There's none Cerise, except for you.
Was so glad the dead rarely did this song. They fuck it up.the end is all over the road. If you cant hear bob and phil doing their own cadenses where jerry is trying to lead them where the cadenses are is why i loved jerry band better. I am saying thatas a deadhead. The ending after the verses is terrible.
was the grateful dead gig for this officially recorded and dated?
I don't know. It was the Jerry Garcia band. All i know is it was on a boat.
It was Garcia Band for this hit, on a boat in the NYC harbor. Also the first show Garcia played his Wolf guitar
Bonnie “Prince” Billy sent me here. And here I have been for the past two hours. Otherworldly songwriting.
This song has created quite an impact on many people. You can see how Jerry influenced the RUclips folks who cover this. There's even a cover by some guy playing it in the passenger seat of his car.
I heard this song for the first time right before I left my hometown, which I had never left before for my new life in the Navy. More than 20 years has passed and it still makes me miss home.
My favorite
That is a magic song. I couldn't even imagine being there to hear this.
god bless and namaste
Such a romantic song by this band. Garcia's guitar work and vocals just add to it.
Gotta love this
Jerry @ 175lbs....
