I haven’t had time with the e3 … but definitely love gaming and watching movies and what not with my Bokeh’s… JV did a video about the opens comparing them more directly with the e3 I think 🤔

@ I played a bunch of cod, with them! They did great for me! But I’m not a dedicated cod player… imaging and location of players seemed spot on generally… I can do a video specifically on gaming… haven’t done one in a long time… might be due

Any 4.4mm dongle DAC under $100 for budget use case… just get a 4.4mm to 4.4mm Schiit modius balanced for a step up If you like to EQ an RME ADI DAC is a beast For a similar price point and pretty much endgame for most people the Cyan 2 DAC These are just a few recommendations and more of a good jump off for researching more DACs Look for either XLR out or 4.4mm out and get the corresponding cables to hook up the gear :) Now I kinda want to try a full 4.4mm system 🤔 you could do the iFi gryphon with 4.4mm out as well and have a more portable solution… or any of the iFi with with 4.4mm outs … so many options

Was looking at the Muse HiFi M5 ultra but has a built in tube would that interfere with each other.

@ look up 4.4mm dongle DACs then set appropriate budget… also you could look at DAPs that have 4.4mm out as an alternative.

@@Amariths1 it shouldn’t… I have a tube preamp feeding a tube amp… just adds more flavor… but it potentially could be too much tube sound… but seeing as how most of these are tube hybrids you should be good

Really good dynamics and above average bass… but for more bass and dynamics I’d go with a Fostex 900mkii or denon 7200…

The answer is almost ALWAYS - bottlehead crack.

Bottlehead Crack is a beast… and fun to build without the speedball then add the speedball down the road :) definitely one of the most pure tube sounds out there! With tons of modding/upgrade options if you are into that and decent with soldering and playing with electricity ⚡️ But, I’d have to say the ampsandsound Kenzie is also just a beautiful sounding headphone amp! Mogwai also is a beast and sounds amazing. I’m a bit of a ampsandsound fan… but they are very pricey. This little gremlin reminds me of my favorite tube hybrid amp which is the nigh impossible to get ECP T4… probably why I like the gremlin so much.

I own the Stellia, and like it the best of the Focal lineup… I haven’t done a side by side comparison of the two, but I can say I use the bokeh more … and I think it is an easy recommendation as a alternative or companion headphones to the Stellia when wanting a different experience from your music. Off the top of my head, Stellia is faster in performance (transients, percussion etc) Bokeh is warmer and more versatile across genres. Hope that helps :)

Oh! How are you liking the element? I had one of the first versions and loved it! Really want to get another one… love the form factor and that volume pot is next level good! Atrium closed is beyond endgame lol! The Bokeh is right there and a good jump in point for ZMF for half the price :) but, can’t fault you for wanting the Atrium Closed =)

@ It's pretty awesome. It's a significant upgrade over my "gaming" Schiit Hel I've had for a couple of years. I've been waiting for a warmer sounding all in one unit that has plenty of power with good customer service, so I jumped right on this day 1. It took my decent sounding Focal Azurys to the next level - I was actually a bit shocked how much of a difference it made. Still haven't figured out their new EQ app yet. I replied to your comment on Joshua Valour's Boken vid about just this. Although I'm tempted by the Bokeh, I'd rather wait for what I really want. I'd definitely be settling if I went that route instead of saving for the Atrium Closed.

Yeah! I’ve been super addicted to cyberpunk 2077… but I need to get back into some Destiny 2, still need to beat that new dungeon… and try the new prison game mechanic… I’ll jump on the discord an say hi and we should coordinate a time to play! My buddy printed and painted the Deadpool bust… it’s next level good!

@TylersEclectic i haven't touched Destiny 2 in months as well. Funny enough, I have been on cyberpunk a bit as well. But mostly doing woodworking projects and renovations. I also have that deadpool model next to me and some pretty sick deadpool and wolverine sculpts on my print list when I find the time. I'll send you some pics of my projects on Discord.

My music is all over the place lol 😆 it’s why I went with “eclectic” … but, I can put some playlists together 🤔 maybe just make my “liked” playlists on Spotify available to everyone… I use Spotify for music discovery and Qobuz for proper listening (outside the flac and vinyl)

Yeah! That’s a good idea! I have a ton of hobbies and collections ha! That is the beauty of being human, we all like different things… doesn’t mean one persons aesthetic preferences will fit others or one is better than the other… all a matter of perspective and personal taste

Fair enough, I’m not a business person nor do I have experience in sourcing and making things… so I couldn’t tell you the BOM price nor the cost adjustment for these to be brought to market at a price point that makes sense for Nick to maintain it as a business? Look at the DMS headphones for instance… over $1k and in my opinion not built as well as these… he has documented his journey regarding them … not cheap or easy. This isn’t meant as shade throwing at DMS … he is a good dude and his headphones are unique and interesting experiment in bringing a headphone to market… a brave and not easy thing to do. Personally I’d rather support a slightly more expensive passionate creator over a large manufacturer any day… but budgets are unique to each individual…

@@TylersEclectic I'm sure the time put into it and design would justify the price, but I think the naming convention is where I really have an issue with it. $800 for audio equipment is not "for all". For that price someone can probably find second hand deals on Focals or Senns as a "safe" bet. i do love the design on these though

From memory and show conditions… so take with grain of salt… but, the Bokeh open was more mid-focused…where the Dahlia is more balanced… that being said… it would be a fun head2head comparison 🤔

On speakers, zero noise! On headphones especially the ones I had on hand the noise floor was noticeable in quiet parts or if nothing is playing. This can be mitigated by swapping in lower gain tubes, and when I did that it dropped the noise floor substantially enough for me not to care about it with my headphones on hand.
