what are your top 5 star hotels in London?
Good question (but tough). I've stayed in 23 5-star hotels in London so have not tried them all and I love each of them for different reasons. Of the ones that I've stayed in, these hotels stand out in my mind (in no order): Pan Pacific, Shangri-La, Corinthia, Landmark, Westin, Chateau Denmark, The Londoner, JW Marriott Grosvenor House If you want a video about any of these let me know!

Park Hyatt seems sweet, at this point I will be traveling almost for free in The Big Four (Nyc, Paris, Tokio, London) because of the amazing Hyatt Loyalty Program

You said that the new Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hanover Square was the old US Embassy but that’s incorrect. The US embassy was first at 1 Grosvenor Square in 1938 and then moved to 24 Grosvenor Square in 1960 before moving to a new location in 2017. But the old embassy at 24 Grosvenor Square IS being turned into a Rosewood brand super luxury hotel destined to open in 2025.

@@LuxuryHotelGirl Although U.K. hotels have a maximum rate of five stars the newly opened Peninsula hotel rates itself as a six star and the Rosewood( old US embassy) is self rated as seven stars. We’ll see !

@@LuxuryHotelGirl London has had Five star hotels for so many years but it’s time for a 6 and 7 star rating to be used more widely because the newest ones in London are raising their standards all the time !

Ooo this is a tough one because I love different ones for different reasons and sometimes they change! For instance, I love the view from Shangri-La in the shard, the spa in Claridge's, the beds in Four Seasons, the interior design in The Londoner etc.

Sorry for the late reply, there are some great options around there. The Landmark (awesome lobby and suites), London Marriott Park Lane (a lovely boutique hotel). The Prince Akatoki London is a boutique Japanese hotel. Bayswater is near Park Lane, which is a famous hotel strip with more options.

Is the lift keycarded?
Yes, it is to the bedrooms. There is a lift up to the lobby and I am unsure if a key is needed for that.

As a guest, I paid at the end of my stay (charged it to the room).
