This video is Day 5 and the final day of the trip. We head over to Lake Rotoroa and up the Porika track, before exploring up the Maud Creek. checking an old sawmill and old milking equipment. Then we head back home to Christchurch. This is the final video for this adventure, See you on the next adventure

This video is Day 4 of a five-day trip. We head up into the hills just south of Collingwood, and do an old Goldfield loop track (grade 3). We find some side tracks/loops and do a bit of damage to the truck. Then we head through to Murchison, where we stay the night.

Join us on Day 3 of a five-day trip. In this video we head Over to Whanganui Inlet from Collingwood, then down the beach in an attempt to get to the Kahurangi lighthouse, however not everything goes to plan. We also head up the Mt Burnett track and check out the 360-degree views from the top.

Hey Jeremy, so when you say "through a farm"... (like you did on the old takaka track) do you need permission?
Although it's accessed through private farmland, as per the snip below of the Doc sign at the start of the track, no permission is required as long as you remain on the formed track, it sounds like there's a public right of way in place. See my post under the community tab to see a picture of the DOC sign.

Hey man, good viewing!. So the property in upper takaka is owned by my family, i grew up there and am currently back there. They own the whole top end of the valley from the upper takakka village. The new access to barrons flat (old takaka ttack) is further around tarseal and over a wee bridge then left and up dairy farm lane to that deer gate you ended up at haha no one uses that old one anymore. And also we also own the farm at the end of the road from tirimawiwi river right through to big river! Spend my whole life out there, so fuckin lucky! The big river generally gets crossed up river a bit in the mud where the old tractor is but as of last couple years its chewed both sides out. trucks would be near impossible now but quads okay unless you can cross at mouth which is not that often although if keen with a group like yours it could probably be done when conditions are good. Cheers man keep it up.
@@joshbryson-x3z here’s for the info. We looked at the crossing where the old tractor was but the was no bank on the south side of the river to get back down to the beach. Crossing at the mouth would be the only option these days until the river changes corse. We would have needed a lower tide and a lot less river flow to get the job done.
@jeremymadeley yeah man that's right, there is actually a track on south side through the rocks , I think the short wheel base jacked up trucks would do it as I seen a can am maverick navigate it few months back but yeah she's pretty tough going atm. Good to see ya down there doing it tho, hope to see Yaz there some time 👍

@@DarrenMcManawaynz I was more surprised my snorkel was still there. Is at the bottom of the tarkaka hill on the same road as if your heading to the cob dam.

Been there done that. Last time in there couldn't get across at Big river. There was a swell keeping the inlet from emptying.

Thanks. Great video. Reminds me of the VIC High Country, but with less vegetation. Excellent weather window in April - dry tracks, not much low level mud. Minus 8 is confronting. I'm planning to get there Feb to March 2025. I will be towing a lightweight, off-road pod trailer. What you think of my chances?
