GOING INTO A BATCAVE | BOULDER CREEK TRAIL AND UPPER DEVILS FALLS | THINGS TO DO IN NACHES
In this video we are heading out to Naches, Washington to do some exploring. We start off our adventure by hiking the Boulder Creek Trail and go explore the Batcave that is at the end. The creek actually carved it way though the rock making an amazing 900 foot cave that is inhabited by bats. The temperature is about 50-55 degrees while in the cave , which was nice on a warm day. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see any bats ,but did see some evidence that they do frequent coming here. To step into the cave you do need to clean your shoes off properly to prevent the spread of White-nose Syndrome. There are some amazing views and payoffs on this 1.5 mile long trail.
We then head up the way and...

@@MamaT-d7n just to let you know if you have a 12v fridge you may want to look at lithium instead due to the power requirements and for dry camping. Please feel free to look at some of our other videos on the 12v fridges and power usage as it maybe more than the 6v system could handle.

Our office bought the 22inch BS like this for our boss for XMas, and he loved it. BS could make one improvement with their griddles and that would be the placement of the grease bin. Think flatrock. Otherwise the BS is a beast in this department. Nonstick is for pots and pans. Not Outdoor griddles. So long as BS is making real griddles I'll consider them. Otherwise I'm looking elsewhere. Even Webber. Just won't have a nonstick griddle. Takes the cook out of cooking. There has to be some kind of learned skill in preparing your food or there is no sense in it. One disadvantage to this that I can see is. Sometimes you put meat or veggies, mushrooms etc on the grill and then chop them up with your utensils. This being a nonstick surface griddle. This may be almost impossible. Sorry brother, but there is no such thing as too much butter. Camping breakfast same as at home. Bacon Eggs and heavily buttered toast. Humans have been eating butter for thousands of years. Butter is not the enemy. You have a hidden fear of butter.

    • @UniqueAdventurez
      @UniqueAdventurez 27 дней назад

Great feedback. I do agree that’s it’s harder to chop things up while cooking , which is easier on the traditional BS. I really loved the grease traps on the 17” traditional BS’s where it was in the front. I agree with the blackstone increasing convenience , which during some camping trips people want to be focused on making memories and not worrying about the food. We love to cook on everything from this blackstone to cast iron to direct over the fire cooking. This just gives some different options. Also for us here in the northwest we do have to contend with humidity and the non stick coating helps decrease the risk for rust as many people deal with rust issues and blackstones. This also takes take some of the worry out of the owning the product. As for butter , we love butter lol… and definitely don’t shy away from it as I feel like it’s a way better option to using oil. But this grill just doesn’t require as much to cook with. Love the amazing comment and the feedback. Thank you !!!

If you're not sure how much use a person can get out of a 12v battery that renders your video pointless. Your video wad supposed to discuss the possibility of 2 6v batteries being an upgrade as compared to a single 12v battery. But at 2:44min you say you aren't too terribly sure how much you can run on a 12v battery. So WTF?! Maybe find something you know about and make a video about mmmmmmmmmmnnńĥú⁵t

    • @UniqueAdventurez

Personally not every 12v battery is created equal . Plus everyone’s power needs are different. What I do know is that in the instance we talked about with our batteries adding 1 12 battery was going to be less amp hours than going to a 6v setup. But at the end of the day everything depends on an individuals power needs.

These days it's called The Cove State Park but it's fun to explore and it has a nice swimming beach and an interesting history (it was originally a town created to house workers building the dam which is just across Huntzinger road. A great side trip is to take the scenic back roads (SR243 to SR24) that follow along the river to Yakima where they have a really nice museum. Unfortunately it's usually so windy at Wanapum that we'll probably avoid it in the future but hey, any camping is good camping! Thanks for a great tour of the area!

I spent 3 months dry camping this summer. The Blackstone 20" Adventure was my main cooking tool. I cookec 2-3 times a day on the unit. It preformed flawlessly. Yes the hinge is a bit funky but i got use to it. Clean up was great. I highly recommend this unit.

Awesome to hear yours is going well. Definitely getting some use out of it. The hinge is an issue and we will be discussing it in a future video. Thanks for the great comment !

Thank you for your helpful video. I was changing my WFCO 8735 to the PD 4135K and not the Mighty Mini that you were installing. Being an old fart this took me a couple of days as my shoulders were killing me after the first couple of hours of being on my side in a cramped area. I was doing the work on my LivinLite Camplite 16TBS to which I was adding a Lithium Blue house battery. If I can comment here, I started doing the change over using your procedure, first with the main breaker and then on. However I found as I got to the 3rd breaker the neutral and ground wires were getting behind each other and starting to look like my old Mum's spagghetti. So I started over, marked the circuit wires and wrote down the previous placement of the 110 wires. Man, are they difficult to manoeuvre in place. Shoulder burning. I then fed the 110 wires into the back of the box and bent the neutrals and ground wires out of the way and concentrated on the hot wires and the breakers. It went a bit smoother after that. For me anyways. Also on the PD 4135 model the neutral bus bar was located on the side and the ground bus bar on the base and an inch or so in from the front face. Changing over the 12V circuits was a piece of cake after the 110 circuitry; however I don't care for wire nuts (or marettes as we call 'em up north) so I used Wago connectors for ease. The factory cut out for the box on the Camplite had been cut too large for the WFCO and so I am going to have to do some extra woodworking to finish the job so it looks half-assed decent. It never ends does it? :) Thanks again for the helpful vid.

Thanks for the informative video. 4 days boondocking with absorbtion fridge, two t105 batteries hooked in series. Still good battery left after 4 days.

Gas fridge ? I think the propane fridges require a lot less power. But not a bad setup regardless.

if one upgrades to lithium, it's not just the cost of the batteries. if you have an older model rv/trailer, YOU MUST upgrade the charger/inverter to one that can charge lithium. avg cost $300-750, plus the cost of newer ticker gauge wiring and labor costs if you are not a DIYer.

You are correct on all these points. We do discuss these hidden cost in another video as well. Great comment !

Thanks for the visual. It looks like the front ocean views say "back in only" .....probably for plug in reasons. I'd like to pull strait in with my RV (for a better inside view) and run the power chord over...is that allowed?

If you have a RV and not a trailer I think you can get away with it if you have extra power cords. Maybe worth the risk of trying At least.

Can you confirm if the regulator connection on the burner side is the same as the 22in cast iron version. We have the propane tank regulator hose and would be nice if it can be used on this the same way.

We have interchanged our connections back and forth between our 20 and 22” blackstone. Should work just fine.

Exactly what I was looking for. I still have a propane refrigerator and was wondering about power usage and solar for a compressor fridge. I do have 2 portable solar panels that i put out on long stays. One is a briefcase type with glass panels and works great. The other is a flexible panel that I keep under the mattress that takes up zero space.

If you have ground chasing solar and roof mount solar you could be in. Enter shape then we were . We are also going to be looking around a ground system as well.
