Congratulations for coming out of bondage lest your whole life will be wasted at the Altar of the Governing Body, the self proclaimed mouth piece of God with endless false prediction of the end. I have lost the best part of my life in it. I still wonder why Matt 24 spoken in the 1st century outlining the end and after 2000 years later and we are still quoting it. Sadly or gladly, now I m mentally unfettered, I think I am happy without religion. Hope you will find your own peace within.

If and when we lose friends, I really believe they were not friends in the first place. friends connect and stay loyal even in the hardest circumstances. So, pleased you have made a decision for your future and that of your child, and I don’t believe leaving any such situations is ever easy, but it’s a learning curve. Blessings to you.

Thanks for sharing your experience and RESEARCH that went behind you leaving. Researching and critical thinking are vital when making any important life decision. I also appreciate that you pinned that ridiculous comment from one of the viewers. JW's want to ask why we leave their "spiritual paradise." Comments like that show how "paradisaic" it really is. Any person/organization that will go through the effort to go online, look for a videos of people talking about their personal experience and then tell them they are satanic , is obviously neither Christian nor possessing rock-solid faith. Thanks for sharing your experience! I was born and raised JW, dad's an elder, went through the same thought processes before getting disfellowshipped. I came to the same conclusions, and made a clean break. I used the shunning to my advantage to ensure nobody harassed me about coming back. It was the right choice, I was (mostly) left alone. I've been out 28 years and never looked back. Making the break is lot to deal with psychologically. You clearly understand the nature of what's going on and know you're doing the right thing. Don't be afraid to reach out for help or counseling if you feel you need it. I see what appears to be a motorcycle helmet on the shelf behind you... riding is great therapy, just saying 😎

ive been out for over a decade (inactive fade) but my parents are still in. My dad is an elder and both of them have been in for decades. It hurts that I can't tell them how I truly feel. When we talk, I know there are many things I cant mention or bring up. They too seem to know this unsaid rule and sbide by it. The rest of my family - all still in - have completely stopped communicating with me even though I'm not DF'd. What has your family and extended family situation been like?

The real True Church is the Catholic Church. I know, they all say that. I had that issue 20 years ago. There has to be THE one that is True and that is the Catholic Church. It's easy to find this out for sure. Google, "which Church did Jesus start". We still have all the documents. Many Christians who followed the Apostles wrote teaching and defending the faith. The taught Catholic doctrines and defended the Catholic Church. If you want to read their writings, Google "early Church Fathers". The Earliest ones were taught by the Apostles. Ignatius of Antioch us a real famous one because he was the first to use the term Catholic. He was taught by John and was made the 3rd Bishop of Antioch by Peter.

In the absence of religion I turned to philosophy to fill the hole left in my life by religion. Particularly Stoicism. It’s got a good system of moral philosophy and mental health. Science, or Natural Philosophy as it was once called, is the best method for explaining how the natural universe actually works and for learning truths about nature and the universe that we don’t already know. Religions all over the world have been mad at science because it explains the reality in which we exist better than any of them ever have, but some have tried to adopt our co-opt science as if to say that it validates their beliefs. Some religions just try to go along and get along with Scientific facts about nature and the wider cosmos. Humanism has a strong community and a better moral compass than organized religions want you to believe. You should check out their Ten Commitments. Not commandments, commitments. Taoist, Buddhist, and Pantheist philosophies are also helpful. I’m saying this because some people, when we leave religion, have a “What now?” moment. Where we’ve decided on what we don’t believe, and now we need to decide what we do believe and why. Turning to philosophy helps you to wrap your head around that.
I grew up Catholic and I have loving parents. Im a highly sensitive person always but in mid teens I stopped believing in god. Because Jesus was a carpenter (I'm a handyman) and he loves all people (I have intense empathy). I broke inside so much when I realised they (Romans) tortured and killed a kind soul on timber and nails (which is carpentry) and then stole his message of LOVE and said it was because of "your" sins. The "Roman Catholic" church today hord insane wealth, abuse the weak. And have corrupt the human soul. Did Satan win? No! I believe in humanity now and kind people make the world work and grow In spite of evil rulers. Because Earth 🌍 is our heaven and hell and I will never give up to make it home. 🌈✌️.

Thank you for this! 🤍 I emailed my letter because I didn’t want them to ever contact me again! Now I have family members telling me to “come back” & then fade so I don’t get disfellowshipped again and they can still technically be able to talk to me. Literally the whole religion is messed up.

I was a JW for a few years. I’m still baptized, but I am inactive, and never plan on going back. Just a very harmful way to live life.
I'm an inactive member rn, so I pretty much "faded" out of the religion. I started having doubts mainly because of the animal kingdom, specifically carnivores since I always thought "if animals were supposed to not eat each other, why is a Lion or a snake solely designed to kill and devour prey?" from then on my belief in God in general dwindled to the point of being an atheist now. One thing that I'll tell people that leave a religion in which you gotta be really involved such as JWs, find a purpose or an area of study that you think it's important, evolution was that for me as now I can stop thinking about God and just explore what we do know. Which to a skeptic like me, it's exciting as hell.
When you "do the research yourself," you suddenly realise there's a whole lot of resources other than JW publications, and they *frequently* do not support the JW viewpoint.
