      Hi! Yes, I usually make it as 1:1 for all 4 ingredients. This one has slightly more compost and peat moss because I was running out of pine bark mulch and perlite, but equal parts of all 4 works great! Thanks

    I’m in NC. I sewed clover seeds in back yard a couple years ago. I couldn’t sit on the patio without the Clover Mites all over me. I finally had to use weed control.

    • @HoustonGardeningNovice
      @HoustonGardeningNovice 2 месяца назад

      Oh wow, good to know! I havent seen clover mites yet, I will keep an eye out for them. Does the type of clover seeds you use matter? I used miniclover and because I mow often from Spring to Fall, they hardly get to the flower stage. I definitely wouldnt want to get rid of the clover .

      Thank you so much! I will start narrating the tour videos which will include the plant names (it's much easier than typing them up 😄. The front walkway garden beds are mostly August Gardenias, Jasmines, Standard Roses, Peach Drift Roses, and White Drift Roses, and Red Drift Roses as the permanent pieces. Dianthus and Rose Moss annuals are also sprinkled in randomly for color. The very front section has Salvia May/Nemarosa and Sprinter Boxwoods with Mecardonia Magic Carpet ground cover

    Indeed, looks great. Same as for me, it didn't take over everywhere and the turf persists. I seeded two differ dwarf varieties, white and red flowers. Not sure if one will fight with the other, I suspect that the red will be less resilient. Can't wait for a decent lawn again.

    • @HoustonGardeningNovice
      @HoustonGardeningNovice 4 месяца назад

      Yes, the grass definitely persists but its much healthier with the ongoing supply of nitrogen from the clover. I imagine the white clover will be more prominent than the red variety

  • @nickbarton3191
    @nickbarton3191 4 месяца назад

    I've started to reseed 500 sq metres with clover, just had two weeks of 35 C temperatures, all the cherries dropped and burnt an area, burnt patches from cat pee, and I'm sick of watering and mowing twice a week. Started to appear in just a few days, will seed more in September.

    • @HoustonGardeningNovice
      @HoustonGardeningNovice 4 месяца назад

      It can get very discouraging, but it will get better. I also first seeded a small test area before ultimately reseeding the entire lawn. The results have been great. Check out my recent update video recorded in late June to show how the entire lawn now looks like in the Summer heat. Good luck with your project!

  • @AidanJuly
    @AidanJuly 4 месяца назад

    Awesome! I would like to do this on my patio, but I'm intimidated by the dry pour. How much did you spend in total $?

    • @HoustonGardeningNovice
      @HoustonGardeningNovice 4 месяца назад

      You can definitely do it! I took my time and did it slowly over ~2weeks. Each quickrete 80lb bag was about $4.50 and I used 20 bags for both pathways, so including the other materials it was probably around $150 for this project. I also did another project extending my patio using the same process. Look in my earlier videos. Good luck! ❤️

I have just shot an early Summer update video and will be uploading it in a couple of days, so you will see how it's been holding up in our early 100F (38C) weather this season.
