I was going to have my class do bucket drumming with this because it is great! But, not sure what to do about the half notes- suggestions?
I have my class hold their hands/sticks/etc down on the instrument to symbolize that the sound is still going for longer durations we just can't hear it.

Is it like charades? Team member claps a rhythm? Own team member has the chance to get it?
I first split the group into two teams. Then one student from one team (the X’s team) comes down and picks a rhythm. They perform it and if they get it correct, I put an X on that box. If you have a smart board you can use the markers to make an X on the screen. Then a student from the O’s team comes down and takes their turn. Play continues until one team gets a tic-tac-toe. Then we move on to the next game board so every student gets a turn eventually. Hope that helps! Let me know how it goes! :)
