I believe nowadays, (dating in 30s) is too idealistic and unrealistic. Coming from an adult that’s done a decent amount of research on gentle parenting strategies and that was given this punishment often as a kid, I think there may be better ways to help your child understand the importance of not bringing their phone to school. This type of punishment causes resentment if there’s no communication between the parent and child about why what the child did isn’t okay. Props for not physically disciplining your child, but the manner in which you pointed out the tear stains and implied that THIS was more painful for him than being beat is really saddening as a former kid who was both beaten and made to write lines. The point of gentle parenting is not to change your child’s behavior through inflicting either physical OR emotional pain as a form of punishment. To clarify, I obviously don’t know what the conversation you had with your child leading up to this looked like, but I needed to put that out there.

I feel the say way too!! Every time it’s about time to come back to America from Guyana I get drained. I guess it’s the fact that we are going in circle every single day. Work and pay bills. What helped is that I work remotely so last year I spent almost 3 months in Guyana. It was so freeing.

You went to the same excursion park I went to in Cancun. It was fun and all the ziplines I had to do just to finish the path I selected was crazy lol. But all in all I had a blast there. The lil paddleboard was a mess lol my friend and I got stuck a few times one of the workers were there in the water to help.
