Inane dialogue, talks through tracks, how did this awful dj last so long.
This guy never got the recognition he deserved. The only reason I think is because his show was on really late. As for as I'm concerned he was up there with Greg Edwards & Robbie Vincent.
The dying embers of the Hit Line, one of the landmark features of Roger’s show. It would be blatantly copied by Radio One almost a decade later, rebranded as Mark Goodier’s Megahits. That met the fate it deserved when the audience persisted in voting for the Rolf Harris version of Stairway to Heaven, forcing Mark to play it day after day. Megahits didn’t last long after that.
Fascinating to hear this. Presumably the lure of Radio One even with a surprising four year wait to get the breakfast show was too much for Mike. The next time there’s a handover of Capital breakfast presenters Princess Diana will be in the studio.
Love this!
I miss this show in the morning…
Loved KJQ. Good memories. Wish I had more of my tapes still.
CKUT is for females and their 28AA bra and for males with small penises. Lots of truth here!!!
This AI Cover is amazing.
thank you
@@mikeharris6722 You're very welcome
I tried to do the same thing with just Cobain's voice, but I couldn't.
no way
I wanted to hear Michael Stipes' AI cover to 'Ghost - Mary on a cross', the voices sound somewhat similar.
no way
What’s the name of the tune at 0:55
If you mean the main body of the intro it’s “At the sign of the swinging symbol” in later years he used the version by Brass Incorporated- but the original before that was by Brian fahey
If I remember correctly, he wasn't there long enough for me to remember him. Prolly won tix from him though.
Oh holy helll. I need all of this.
A great preseter taken far to early from us RIP Mike Smith ✝️
This was actually 1980
I really wish we could hear some of the nightly countdowns from the late 80s. KZZP was such a great station!❤️
loving this, wish nirvana evolved to sounds like this
Yet another BBC Nonce ... Cancel your TV licence ..NOW!
ASAP
you are crazy
it's through AI
Disrespectful af and sounds nothing like Kurt
It does sound like kurt. Also why is it disrespectful?
@@naturep1x3ls exactly, thank you
@@mikeharris6722 The AI haters will always hate, so ignore them, great cover!
Interesting and scary at the same time
if Nirvana went Indie Rock after In Utero
Dude, This is Amazing. If you told me this was found in Kurt's basement I'd believe it. I'm Ready for the AI take over!! haha
Cooooool 🥳💃🏼🌟
Yeah right….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂❤😂❤❤❤😂❤❤😂❤😂😂😂❤😂❤❤❤❤😂
Brings back so many memories, thanks for posting mate.
you're very welcome, my pleasure
This is fantastic. I can realive my teenage 90s naustslgia when epic Y 107 was KROQ's Real competition between 1996-1999 putting KROQ to shame, but I did love Kevin & Bean in the morning
cool
At first I thought it might have been me, stoned out- but the dj used some phrases that I am not sure I would have used... but who knows? 1971 was a gazillion years (and shows) ago.
great to hear from you charles :)
So laid back. I can't identify the DJ, but I can ID Charles Laquidara voicing the ad at the start.
I used to listen to The Late Show in bed on school nights. I had to wear my earphones and cover up the lights on the radio so my Dad didn't realise when he came in to check on me! 😂😂
How I wish the mighty Fluff was still with us.
When Wogan just said “it’s the 15th of April”. Thought to myself, “that’s not right”. Then I remembered this was 19 year ago!
Favorite FM Radio DJ. The all too brief period when he was running CFNY at its infancy, was also my favorite FM Radio of all time. When I wasn't able to listen, I was always wondering what I must be missing.
It’s starts off the Chart 27th March 1983 20 8 then goes to No 2 July 1983 2 separate charts
we miss you steve wright r I p mate so sad
I need more...
Morning with Fraser Smith how much I miss those days
A far nicer Radio 2 then
yep
Rick Stacy still awsome on sunny 1059 every morning
Power 997 was so much better then power 961 is today
God may ye rest eternal, Fluff...
I use to record this station music into cassettes i was a teenager but i loved it it was great

The mellow, warm sound of MW.
