Now I can finally find out first hand. Know a couple of people on Facebook from Aucklandld. Can't get ahold of. How is the flooding now? Stay safe

@@RandyR Oh, they've got an 'orange' warning tonight, which won't be as bad as the first. Northland though, is at red tonight (and the Coromandel). The ground everywhere is still saturated of course. No one's out of the woods yet. Slips are going to happen and more damage with the ones already. There's a lot of roading damage. I don't live in Auckland though and nothing is really happening here. We are due to get rain. I'm 6 hours drive away. Friday night was not that tough for me, just very late to get back to where I was staying. The conditions were bad certainly. No bus flooding. The train and track I travelled to get to the venue (actually, due to maintenance, you had to then catch a bus to get near to the stadium,) got closed down later. The stadium's not in town, which is a bummer. Anyway, the train track I had been on, subsided and the train I was going to catch, once the show was cancelled, got stuck on those tracks- from rail staff and then the whole city system was shut down. The bus back was long. The expressway had also been closed. When in downtown, the buses had simply disappeared. I had to get a taxi after thinking buses were still coming, due to 'Siri'- the bus computer talking sign. There were many dead cars on the trip back. One road we were on, had a big blow hole in it. Auckland's varied terrain meant that conditions were different everywhere along with the severity. A lot of infrastructure damage and the political talk is buildup to cope with the new normal and what lies ahead. It was certainly an awful night. The stadium had flooding. It wasn't a goer. Even beforehand in catching the outbound train, they didn't have a driver. It had been raining the whole day. We waited for quite sometime before it left. It was full of people. The next day's concert was canned at about 11:30am. Roughly 4:50pm (don't know how accurate that time is,) Elton's Bombardier Global Express jet took off for Honolulu. The last time I saw elton was at the Brisbane entertainment centre. That was years ago- like 15? I had to let later ticket go another (family) and sometimes he did those winery gigs- NSW I think? Never got there and out of the country for another. I really wanted to see him and the band.
