Pond roof complete
I complete the pond roof. I decided not to use roof felt as i feel this wont last and I would need to replace it again in a few years. I am happy with what i have now and having my pond area water tight and dry for nice evening sat with the koi

Thanks for your video, as an animal lover i didn't think much of that place with the farm animals they weren't happy no food around and no bedding poor things. Gwen 🧓
@@GwenGamble-u9v The animals live in Healeys cyder farm. I have been going on holiday to Cornwall now for 8 years and that poor horse always looks sad. She use to be in a little barn on the other side of the farm but she was no happier. I hope we made them a little happier giving them a tickle. Normally the coats are jumping about and look really happy.

Plan is its going underground to join up via a viaduct lift as council on building houses on where college was been builtover original park was a duckpond can see viaducts oringal pond and docks where the trees so there tryimg to work out how to connect via bottom near flats are

@@ThePBWay not a problem where the garages are the unlock team usually get together great bunch in the community have fundraisers and what not over the years where they have they are trying to get it to run like a viaduct change over like ashton in makerfield i think if correct where the boats uploaded to switch between liverpool or manchester canals there another channel called canal boat silver Fox that covers this any way have a great day good channel you have

@@ThePBWay Was all a bit dramatic and click bait. Arum lilies and flag iris tend to grow well in water with the constant nitrate supply

Do you have a weather proof roof on your pond? have you any ideas on what would be best to use as a roof. I want it so the fish still get uv light but keeps the rain out

I really do wish now that I had put some shelf’s in the pond so I could have had plants in. If you don’t have shelf’s in your pond but do have plants. Firstly, the plants you choose need lots of space, similar to water lilies, the roots and tubers run rampant in an enclosed space. Iris are a better choice and the tubers aren't as invasive as either of the lilies. I would also look to use 2x2 to make a supporting frame around the veg filter and get the more rigid baskets so they hold shape and make it easier when you need to do any cleaning or maintenance on the filter. Real like the filter setup and a big believer in the benefits of veg filters for koi pond. I very much enjoyed your video.
@@TerryOConnell-u8j Thank you Terry. Last year was the first year I put the Lillies in I normally just have the Iris. But this year the Lillies took over and the iris didn’t get a look in so they didn’t grow at all. Your idea to support with 2x2 is a great idea. If I wasn’t going to build my new veg filter I would definitely do that with the supporting frame. I agree with the benefits the veg filter bring. I just hope my parameters are still good with me having to take the Lilles out. Thanks again for the comment
