Found this fascinating. I appreciate the clear demonstration. I will certainly try to get a hold of this puzzle although I have to say it’s somewhat intimidating. I am kind of new to burr-type puzzles and I’m wondering if I get into trouble somewhere in the middle how difficult it will be to get back to the beginning to start over again! Once again, much appreciated and thank you for this video

This is easily one of the best puzzles i've ever seen, and i've seen a lot. My favourite features in a puzzle box are all there: Made by hand on wood, full of very smart little mechanisms that have the right amount of difficulty. They are typical of good mechanism ideas by woodworkers making them by hand. And on top of all they let you open the whole thing up and see it all. Great work showing the parts in detail, you made a very nice job.

Thanks for the video.I think there is a small manufacturing flaw making the wanderer hard to deposit.This is because the slot in the brass key at the bottom and the small hole just above it in the brass key do not align exactly with the 2 holes in the outer casing.Another 0.2mm shaved off the slot depth at the bottom of the brass key would make it much simpler to deposit the wanderer.The early better made made puzzles enable this to happen in a logical way but the newer puzzles are flawed making the experience frustrating .

Thanks for makin this one Loki! Like you said, this is great for people to be able to see for videos of uncommon puzzles, and puzzles that will be out of reach because of low numbers. I really enjoyed it! I just got Mittan last week and I'll be curious to hear what you think of it!

I was hesitant to watch since I thought maybe one day I’ll get one. I watched your sdcb solve and then later got one of those. But hearing the price I will never get one, and tbh for the complexity and steps of the solve I think I would have been disappointed to pay that much for that kind of puzzle experience. It really is for the dedicated Juno collector. I think sometimes people see really high prices for some of these puzzles and assume that means it’s an absolutely fantastic puzzle but they can be burned if they don’t realize the price is almost entirely based on it being a rare piece of history.

The first part of this puzzle is good. But banging a $500 puzzle like this is counterintuitive. I own one and this is a solve I do not appreciate. I appreciate the video.

I just love the idea of this puzzle. There's nothing like it that I am aware of. It's not crazy complicated but it's one of my favorites.

Wood craftsmanship at its best. Exciting mechanic. But I agree with you. For a pure SD pleasure, the Escape Room approach doesn't fit ... although a real pirate treasure hunt wouldn't be complete without an old handwritten note :) Stunning work by Jesse AND thanks for your great content. <3
