Flopping Aces Full on my FIRST HAND! | Poker Vlog Episode 1
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.3 месяца назад
Hi RUclips! This is my first VLOG, so let me know on what I can work on, and if you think I made any fish plays. Thanks for watching!
Great content! Keep it up! Love your commentary on the hands!
I like your channel and wish you well. If I start playing again, I'm sure I'll see you around. I played a lot, everywhere you've shown, before the pandemic when I stopped going and spent time at my business in Nashua instead. I sometimes wonder which of my poker friends still play at Mohegan Sun, Chasers, Foxwoods, and many other places I spent time playing at. A lot of them probably figure I'm dead, and in fact part of why I've hesitated to start playing again, is that I'm sure that the list of obits I'll hear about from the last 4 years will be longer than usual. It was pretty long the time I took a year off, without a pandemic, and I was in my early 50s then, rather than mid 60s now.
I was surprised in the J9 hand that villain didn't have 87 or TT, after he called your big flop raise. Once he called that, the chance of him having a hand you were ahead of, was pretty low unless a bunch of things were true. For you to be ahead, he needed to have a pair and open ender, plus he had to think you never had KQ (which is the most likely hand for you to have) and that you'd pay him off if he hit a straight. His call with AA was insane, it was a shove or fold spot for him. Really a fold, all he beats is KK or QQ, and your chance of playing them that way is low. Top and bottom pair is usually a good flop, but once you have reason to think you're behind, it's either a 4 outer or a 3 outer (if he has JT). It was for those reasons a terrible board texture for 2 pair. Sometimes you just have to pretend you missed the flop and not even put another penny in. There are easier ways to make money at 1-2 than to hope nobody outflopped you on that wet a board, ESPECIALLY when absolutely every person saw the flop. That your flop raise turned out to be a psychic-genius raise because a fish with just an overpair called it, doesn't mean it was correct. I HATE being in spots like that, and have made my own share of big mistakes, but I doubt that I lose $400 on that flop very often. You don't even have implied odds to call the $70 if you're behind, because you'd need to get paid $700 on the turn if you hit, and sometimes even then you are dominated by JT and still lose.
Game needs improvement but keep the grind up
I really like that you showed your shaking hands when you have the Kings. You could have edited that out. Keeping it in and commenting about it and how ways you can improve your game. That's really good.

Vlog #1 was a losing session. Your honesty earned my sub. I wish you the best. Get a coach if you don't have one and post at least once a week. GTO is great to know, but it's relevance is so limited at $1/$2 live. Exploitative is how you crush live low limit....and of course bankroll management.
Nice session! Not surprised recording is prohibited there but it's probably for your bankroll's best interest. Boston Encore is a extremely tough place to grind out 1/3 as you'd probably need a aroundt 100k views just to overcome it's industry leading $10 rake
Do you have instagram?
They allow you to record At encore?
They asked me to stop so I'm visiting different places.☹
I generally dislike bombpots, since everyone’s uncapped, they add variance, and they can reduce your edge. They can also break games, since it’s so easy for bad players to get stacks in. I’m pretty nitty in bomb pots, but there are a few live reads I rely on a lot in these spots. I look for players that are willing to fold strong hands (with or without SDV) and players that are likely to overplay those same types of hands. I also feel like people generally bet way bigger than they should, especially when they’re opening action on the flop - which also lets you play a pretty tight strategy. Also, since people typically rfi so large on the flop, downbetting can induce some ludicrous action.
In west Texas my options are very limited, both poker clubs I have to choose from do double board 4 card bomb pots.... every dealer change which is every 30 minutes... it's insane
good stuff bro
Never show your hand if people not calling you
In general, that is good advice. There are exceptions, though most of them work best in a place where nobody knows you, and you're not going to become a regular. By choosing what to show them, you can manipulate their image of your play, including that by showing you are not totally making all of your decisions to maximize your EV. If showing is always "wrong" and you sometimes show, they may think you do other things "wrong" also, even if you don't. Another way to look at it, is that if everyone at the table shows 20% of the time in that spot, then if you show 15% of the time, you are the only player with an edge due to how often you show. If you show 0% of the time, maybe they notice and all stop showing, and you lose that edge. Never say never. Even on something Mike Sexton, who I respected greatly, said to never do. Things like selectively showing to manipulate your image, or giving false tells vs not, are personal decisions where the EV being +EV vs -EV is debatable and dependent upon the thought and skill you put into using them, not using them, randomizing using them, or picking spots to use them. If you're not playing against computers, don't rule out doing stuff that would be stupid against a computer.
showing stack sizes would be good.
Bro, you folding straights at Boston Billiards? I have to come back up north asap
Really like the 1-3 content. Not enough at those stakes.
Great first one. Loved the analysis along the way.
good luck in texas! my advice to you is to observe the play even when you are not in a hand. don't call, raise, or even fold without good reason to do so. listen to your gut! remember this j.d.l.r. just doesnt feel right. dont brush this feeling off as indejestion it could make you money or save you money!!!! and finally have fun!!!!
my thoughts on your jack-nine hand. the first thing to ask yourself after his $70 bet is what type of player is this. if you dont have that infor yet being kinda new to the table, then i i think a call is in order. keep in mind he can have anyting here! so if he shoves on the turn on you its an easy fold as the hand he most likely has is a king-queen no flush draw. i dont like your raise on the flop because of what happened. once he called the raise, what did you put him on? if u cant answer that then u r thinking wrong in the hand. i will tell you this i would never have put him on aces here as there is way too much that beats aces here. even in a bomb pot, aces should not be betting like he did. so i would consider this player to be weak. in the future against this player, when they bet like this they always have a big hand! now why did you shove on the turn? unless u have jack-nine of hearts here, a check call is in order or even a check fold! better two pair hands on this turn card. hey you are learning u will get better dont worry.
so i just watched your pocket fives hand. let me ask you this: if you were on the button in this hand what would u have done holding pocket fives? in every poker hand, u have to ask yourself questions otherwise what are doing? the correct answer is you would bet. and you would bet half to three quarters of the pot. why? in hopes of taking it down uncontested. now the button doesnt know u dont have a king or seven because u were checking the flop to the preflop raiser. so i would have called or maybe even raised in this spot depending on what type of player i consider the button. on the turn if he continues to fire, then i would release my hand barring no five hits. if he checks the turn, maybe he has at best a king. so u would proceed with caution at that point. sometimes in poker u have to lose money to make money and this hand is a perfect example of that as you would have gain important info about this player. remember, the two players at a poker table you should be most wary of are the one to your left and the one to your right. once again good luck
ok i am watching your queen-jack of spade hand. u got very lucky your opponent folded there. if it were me, i would have snapped called with any pair or maybe even king high! i think from your position, and on this flop you should have bet. sure its multi way but keep in mind, your opponents dont know what u have either and could be just as afraid as you may have been by getting blown off the hand. if u had gotten raised on the flop, it would be most likely by a better hand. your bet on the flop also lets you see where you are at. if u get called by someone they most likely have a pair of some sort on this board. the reason i would have called your river bet, is because it doesnt make sense. if u have any pair under an ace then check calling is the play realizing you have show down value against any hand not containing an ace. so if i am your opponent, the only hand here that would bet like this is a hand that missed or an ace. since you did not bet the ace on the flop or turn, this has to be a bluff so i have to have king high or better to call here. also, your opponent missed out on gaining valuable info about your skill level. so use this in the future when u r your opponent in this secenario.
ok bud, i have been playing poker for over twenty something years so when i watch poker vlogs and see errors, i have to comment on them. also it may give u some valuable insight as u r starting off. so with your king queen hand you said you called because he could have a weaker queen than you, right? so i want you to think about this. every thing you do in a poker hand there needs to be a reason before u do it. so put yourself in your opponent's shoes for a moment. the preflop raiser has checked the turn which means he may have missed the board so let me throw out a feeler bet of $15 to see what happens. if he raises, then he was trapping me with a hand like top boat or ace-king. but if he just calls then he has a weak ace, or kings, or a queen. so my opponent just called so i am going to bet for value on the river of $25. so in this scenario, this is what i think your opponent was thinking and u paid him off on the river. think about this, before calling the river ask yourself this: why did my opponent bet? if he had a queen then he has show down value so a check would have been the smarter play. being in position and his bet was sorta small, this appears to be a value bet and what hand would be value betting here? and ace or better. good luck moving forward.
I can see my arm behind the pepsi cup.
Good luck on your poker vlog bro, hope to see the update😊
Man I saw u at the table front of me😊 gl on your poker game!
You need to work on your bet sizings, you bet like 6/7 for a connector, and 10 for Ax+
What a fish
Good luck on the vlog. Something to think about as you’re learning the game. Your analysis has to be predicated on your specific table and adjust. After watching for 5 minutes I realized you were sitting with a bunch of nits. So with that being the case, you can’t limp aces in the hopes of a 3-bet. Same thing when you made a set of deuces. In those types of games, just bet your strong hands for value. GL
Unfortunately these players aren’t very much action. Only benefit of coming up in these is that they teach discipline against nits. They do tend to give bad habits when trying to move up also. Good luck at the tables sir.
Just saw the bomb pit hand.. even in a hold ‘em bomb pots, top n bottom pair isn’t extremely strong on that board. But I think what’s worse is the jam on the turn. You lose to every single hand that will call your flop raise in a bomb pot now. Check back maybe fill up. If not. Pitch it. Nbd
Much better poker vlog than Brad Owen and Mariano
😂
when is the viewer games huh?
Hes back!
Your assumptions that any players at $1/2 live in the US are playing anywhere near optimal poker is wildly optimistic. Even at microstakes on Stars where a lot more players are playing better than here, they're not playing near gto frequencies. Don't be too surprised at anything!
How long did you play?
I stayed 5 hours in my first session.
Nice video Holo! Can't wait to see more!
loving the content, keep it up king
Just started going to this casino 🎰 nice video subscribed
Hey love your content and happy you got paid!
Nice second vlog bro...On that AQ hand i consider the river justice not you sucking out. You had the best hand pre andnon the flop also....nice book!
Great first episode bro. Subbed 👍
CLICK BAIT !!
You're not smart
I give you a lot of credit for your efforts, Massachusetts is the worst place to gamble on anything 😂
This isn't the 1-2 game your daddy played anymore 😢
That sucks that you can't record at those places
Gave you a sub. Good luck on your journey!!! ❤ One thing I just noticed, please don't show your opponents your cards after they muck; it gives them a ton of free information. Thanks.
your voice sounds boring

@@yin8032 are you 6 years old? As the previous poster also said, offer constructive criticism politely or say nothing. This guy's quality seems amazing considering this is vlog 2!
Why are you playing 1/3 at the casino if you're grinding 6 tables of 2/5 online?!!🤨
soft tables at 1-3 live could yield really good results!
@@CardsAreFun711playing 6max rush poker, even a 1bb/100 winning player would be making $60/hr 6tabling. This guy seems like a thoughtful player, but i feel like this would be an incredible win rate for even the softest 1/3 games in the country. It’s more likely that he’s just doing it while he experiments with the content. Anyway, I subbed. Would be really interesting to see a winning 500 rush player play some mid stakes live.
Right
8:45 - 10:25 You make a lot of reads to justify the fold: they're OMC and never ever bluff, their SB range is reasonable, they probably don't overvalue trips like A8 or K8, they probably would've flop xraise'd straights, they don't flop xraise any sets etc. And those are all reasonable individual reads, but if ANY of them are a bit off you suddenly have an easy call. You need to be super confident on all these reads to find a fold, much more confident than when you use them individually, and I don't see how you get that confidence without a ton of hands on the guy. u fukin nit
I can’t believe you folded 910s getting those pot odds and for only $115 more. The guy wasn’t playing well, he was playing terribly, he just got lucky to value bet what was basically a bluff catcher and get you off a better hand.
Yeah, he definitely played that hand super weird, and I felt he was only on full houses there when he doesn't check raise flop and did it on the turn pairing card. I do have insane pot odds, and I'll be calling in the future.
@@HoloPoker you made a high level gold against a fish. Against a lot of players this would be a good fold. I also understand your reasoning. In this spot though I think you have to just close your eyes and pay.
Once you call turn you have to call a river shove, board texture didn't change. He probably put you on 89 and was river value shoving against an 8.
