Some of the early US record club pressings had the liner notes printed in the US, but the discs made in West Germany. Typically the absence of the letters indicates a North Americian copy, as the EU and Japanese had the Madonna True Blue text on the front, but it gets complicated as some later reissues in either area have been done the opposite ways. Easiest way to know is to look up the disc's runout/matrix number on discogs.

She paved the way for people like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, etc...But what's amazing is she can still draw a crowd. Like she recently did when 1.5 million people came to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro for her latest concert. When you can still do that at 65 that's saying A LOT...!!! A record for the largest audience ever for a stand-alone concert by any artist in history.

This cassette was what I asked for above all else for my birthday when I turned 8 years old, back in 1987! My family got me a bunch of gifts that year, but apparently not the Like A Virgin tape I had begged for. Then after I'd finished opening all my gifts - trying to act as happy as possible about them (but trying to hide how sad I was that I didn't get my Madonna cassette) - my mom asked me to go get her purse from her bedroom. When I brought it to her, she pulled out one last gift. It was about a foot long but the width of a cassette. When I opened it, it was the Like A Virgin tape - in one of those big plastic security cassette holders that they used to have at music stores to prevent theft. I was so excited I yelled with excitement and even cried a little. I was so overjoyed!!! Seeing this video brought me back to that special moment. I'm now about to turn 45. (My birthday is actually coming up this month!) And even though I have access to all of Madonna's music - and thousands of other artists I love, both old and new - that memory stays with me and will always remind me of how much my mom and family loved me, growing up! <3 I'm sure I still have that cassette around here somewhere in storage, but I have no idea where haha! Thanks for sharing this video!! Would love to see more unboxing of legendary cassettes, CDs, vinyl records, maybe even MiniDiscs if you can get your hands on those! God bless you and yours!

I used to have the very same one! I got it back in 1991 but in 2015 when my dad passed away I moved to Texas to be with my mom and i took it with me but when i checked in the airport, I left it on the security check point and didn't realize until I was already in the airplane. I was already upset because of my father's passing and that just made it even worse. Up to this day I still feel bad about losing it... 🥺
