it doesnt really sound like an elk wendigos sounds pretty much like that
the start of this video gave me a heart attack
Sorry, but the remake messed up with this
Such a shame the remake got rid of these screams. This sound design and the OG soundtrack blended together was why I loved the original, since the Wendigos felt way more intimidating than the remake. If only the devs here for the remake kept the same quality of those earth-shattering screams...
So the Original Version of the Wendigo’s Scream was Very High Pitched and made the Player Jumpscare. But the Remake they tuned it down a bit and made it monster noise.

Everything about the audio design was turned down, it's so disappointing. The soundtrack is barely there, sometimes it's nearly completely quiet or just a bland nothing burger compared to bombastic sounds of the og. That's the biggest shame really, I can get over visual changes as that's just sadly the way most remasters do things, but changing the entire soundtrack and atmosphere is big no no

I like the Deer Demon Wendigo better than the original Wendigo Deer Wendigo are way cooler and I like deer.

This was the game that got me interested in the legend of the wendigo. Scariest part in the game for me was when you have to go back to abandoned asylum, and to the lair of the wendigos. I'd be like well nice knowing you; I ain't going in there.
Yup this was how i became interested in wendigos as well was this horror gem
There's a great deal of interesting mythology when it comes to wechuges/wendigo. Until Dawn's take on the folklore is unique, but doesn't detract from the horror aspect.
for me, it was a show called Lost Tapes, one episode featured Wendigo
