Kraton 6s extra crispy, Jack Frost Edition
Просмотров 76День назад
A quick blast in the virgin snow, not really, I was here yesterday too, LOL. But anyway, a quick rip w/Zeee 6s 4000 that was intended for the Kaiju that called out sick.

Maybe these rc's don't really like the cold? About 15F out today, balmy! I had to zip coat, gettin soft in my old age I guess. Not sure what ails it, no-go, got steering. The Kaiju acted the same way today, didn't make it off the bench, DOA.. same issue, no motorvation.. Might have a couple of tuckered out HW BL150's that need to be retired. Each has served 3 tours (years) or more of this same ...

Quick one, cut short by the TRX pinion-miser, LOL. Fun while it lasted.

Replaced the broken arm from the last bash. I need some 2.8 paddles for this thing!
Bandito 2s.. I think, could be 3s, not sure.
Просмотров 2228 дней назад
My Bandito was gifted to me by my bro. It has rustler rear arms, vxl3s combo running on 2s? with Jconcepts Chopper sct rear, DTX spead tread sct front tires. These things are a blast, really tricky to drive a rough course like this I find.
X-Maxx, I'm sorry.. I didn't mean it.

Welp, I broke it. Luck ran out. It'll be back in two shakes, maybe three..
Traxxas Hoss got jammed up.

Great little truck, taken a pounding over the years.. busted an arm on a botched landing. She'll be back.
X-Maxx why not?

I can't say I've ever really been let down by this thing. Never thought I'd say it, but the X-Maxx is legend. Coming up on 3 years old, can't believe how long it's lasted with so little breakage. Long live X-Mike!!

Tightened up the pinion, then gave her a spanking. Good times!

Nice bash with the kraton Plus the cronos body looks good😊
Thanks brother! The factory paint job on the TC Kronos bodies doesn't do it any justice I don't think. This body was a mashup of colors I had laying around, actually doesn't look bad IMO. I call it "Goldmember", LOL.
Definitely want to run some in the snow this year.. we had only a lil dusting so far in Jersey.. nice lil spot to bash too! Very cool..
Thanks! Yeah I can't go without bashing through winter! LOL. Cheers🍻
Snow bashing is the best! Have fun out there! And merry Christmas!🎄✌
Thanks brother! I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I got a couple rips in on Christmas day, didn't get any vids though as I was plagued with electrical issues, lost 2 HW rtr esc's. LOL. They took 3/4 years each of my abuse year round so, no complaints. I never even disabled the fans for snow bashing, which they say you should. I'll probably just replace the broken esc's w/same, Quicrun G2's, for the money, can't beat them.😎👌
I love it!!!
Thanks bro! Still got the XRT? Any snow out ur way? Merry Christmas bro!
Man, I miss bashing in the snow! So much fun!
It is so much fun!! We have 4-5 months of potential snow here in upstate NY. I think snow bashing is almost as much fun as summer bashing! LOL. Thanks brother!🍻
@@knowair6767 I used to live in Michigan, so same thing there, but now I'm in SWFL. Summer all the time here. I don't miss the cold at all. Just miss a good snow bash.
Im subscribed. Just ru across your channel today. Cool videos. Thanks
@@CrystalPlantz Thanks👍 Got a PC coming so hopefully I can edit out some of the mumbo jumbo soon!🤣
You have an awesome piece of property. Very nice. Good job
@@CrystalPlantz Thank you! Our little slice of heaven! Hoping to extend my track one of these years.. but hate cutting the trees. Privacy is priceless!😉
great rip w the infamous hoss. do you have the hd extreme upgrade kit on there?
No, but it does have the alloy hubs for the Slash Ultimate front and rear.
@knowair6767 oh ok
Last I love the sound of the xmaxx The Maxx and the minimaxx are fun but the sound of the X-Maxx is the best What state do you live in that you have this much snow already we've only had dustings of snow I had to rewatch the part where you broke it it didn't look like that bad of a jump until I saw that it landed on its side
@@nomusicrc I agree, the X has a great sound to it, unless it has mod 1.5 gears, ruins it IMO. My bro has a Maxx 4s, quietest rc ever, LOL. I’m in NY. We got snow early this year, grounds not froze, 40’s next week. It’ll be gone after that. I think the Xmaxx arm was damaged from previous hits and just finally gave up. 3 years on standard duty arms, I can live with that! I feel like the heavy duty arms would have broken something else, like a bulkhead. I’m sticking with the standard parts. IMO, the Xmaxx is the ultimate hooligan truck. It does everything!🤘😎🍻
That truck is good, handles jumps in the cold nicely! Rt on man. It's impressive after all that and still small damage overall.
I was never a Traxxas fan till my brother started getting back into the hobby about 4 years ago. He kept buying one after another, he turned me on to Traxxas, I turned him on to Arrma. Each has some really good and not so good offerings.. you can probably see from my vids that I don't do brand loyalty. Buy what ya like! I do. Happy bashing brother!👍
slapped you w a sub bro. glad to see people still driving their hoss's. remember you have self righting on that truck by holding set button on top of transmitter but you swapped to a different one.. i fully restored and retired mine once they changed the name back to the stampede vxl. great bash and video bro.
Thanks Bro! Yeah, I never cared much for the self righteous, I mean righting, LOL. Rough on the drivetrain, especially when you've already activated it and your brother decides he's gonna give ya a nudge with his rc to help.. broken driveshaft, LOL.
@@knowair6767 lmaoo yea tearing the diffs up. never car ed much for that either but it was helpful when i was driving mines.
Tecno pinion mine kept doing it till I switched and also I soaked mine and brake fluid cleaned it and did not run it after the lockdown for at least 24 to 48 hours just saying nice run nice truck
@@dougdishler2086 Thanks! I have used Tekno and HR besides the stock TRX pinions. If the pinion is already used it helps to run the grub through as far as possible with it off the motor to clean out the old T/L first. Then brake cleaner, reinstall with T/L and heat cure, 10 minutes and I’m back🤘 LOL Cheers bro🍻
nice snow rip! Love my Xmaxx
@@rctd3260 Thanks, yeah the Xmaxx has been a blast to bash! Great truck IMO.
Go Finn!
Last After watching one of your videos this came up in my recommended so I watched it You're pretty good with the throttle control I can't believe that thing has taken a beating for 4 years and finally broke
@@nomusicrc Thanks! Obviously I don’t get very serious with it. I have no means of editing this stuff. Just a guy playing with toy cars, LOL. Cheers bro 🍻
Last Great video no music Nothing better than a man driving an RC with his dog What upgrades have you done to it
@@nomusicrc He got 3 of the 4 tires, LOL. I used E6000 to seal 2 of them, didn’t see the holes inthe 3rd till I went to run it again. Making another vid now with patched tires. They’re all sealed aside from the dog bites. I see one took on some water, I’ll probably just vent the tires to make sure it can get out. Happy bashing bro🤙
too much air for the x max
LOL. I think I got the pinion issue worked out on the X. I bought and installed the GPM aluminum rear gear cover that adds another bearing to the spur shaft out near the spur gear. I managed to get several packs through it, then lost something else in the driveline, it's clicking/skipping like something lost a tooth.. not the pinion or spur gear though, likely the next weakest link, diff input shaft or gear, or maybe a ring gear. Not sure, but it is going on 3 years old with basically original drivetrain parts, so not bad. I'll have to tear into and see what gave up before the snow flies. Thanks fur watchin!👍
Rip it up ..
Glad to see you out on the Turf
Do you know if the metal used for the turnbuckle has been improved as I know lots of people broke that?
I don't know if Redcat changed the metal of the turnbuckles. I know they did revise the plastic ends at some point along the way. I actually am using 1/8 scale turnbuckles in place of the upper arms the Kaiju came with. I have pivot balls and standard rod ends on my Kaiju inner and outer.
@@knowair6767 from redact originally or from a different company, can you link it?
Do you know if they improved the turnbuckle or not?
Where are you..??? Looking forward to seeing your Reckless Abandonment with you vehicles 😊
More shorts please milt built loves your channel.👍😊
Nice bit of snow bashing! Cheers!
Thanks! 🍻
That was a hard bash good job👍
Thanks!! It definitely had more battery left, but darkness was setting in and I really wanted to get a video of the Xmaxx on paddle tires. So cut the Kraton run short. In hindsight, I really wish I had the GoPro when I ran the paddle equipped Xmaxx in the sunlight, really looked awesome when you can see the roost and ice chunks flying through the air!! The paddles belong to my brother, so I took them off the Xmaxx that night. I think I do want a set of 8s paddles, and a ton of other parts/upgrades, LOL. Thanks again bro! Happy bashing!🍻
Hi, is this as big as a Arrma Kraton 6s? Is it a good truck?
Hey there, yeah, it's pretty close to the Kraton 6s in size. It's a bit narrower in width than a Kraton. Redcat uses positive offset wheels to make the truck wider. Traxxas does this also. As far as good, yes, I think it's a great truck. Redcat doesn't get aftermarket support like Arrma or Traxxas though, so if you're looking to upgrade and make it do some of the crazy jumps and stunts that are commonly seen here on YT, you may be better off with a Kraton or Sledge. What you see me doing in my videos I have been using the Kaiju for over 3 years and it's held up very well. Sure I've replaced many parts but they are relatively cheap to buy. For the money, it's a pretty good buy. The Kraton 6s v5 BLX at $550 is a great choice as well. You can still find them around, Arrma is about to drop the V6 version and is showing the V5 as discontinued I believe. Don't let that deter you from buying a V5 tho, I doubt there will be a whole lot of differences.
@@knowair6767 Thank you for the details and I appreciate the info and help. Yeah I just purchased the Redcat Kaiju EXT, I got a really good buy, for it. I got 2 sets of battery’s, and a charger all for the same price of a Kraton 6s, so value that’s why I went with the Redcat Kaiju EXT. I am not using it for jumping just park use going around markers on concrete and grass. I think it’s definitely the most under rated truck out there. It looks great and it has hobbywing parts, it’s big and fast, it’s all I wanted in a RC truck. Thank you again and great video 😊👍
@@NoahAmazon Awesome!! Congrats! Yeah, I forgot to even mention the Redcat branded HW electronics. My esc is still going after 3 years of use, snow, rain, mud, summer heat.. crazy how good it really is. The servo is a bit weak but it's the only rtr servo I've ever had that lasted more than a year. I think mine lasted almost 2 years. I was so impressed by the Hexfly servo I started buying them for every one of my rc's. They are rebranded DS servos. You can get the 35kg(blue) as an upgrade for $20 off amazon. You may want to consider upgrading from the t-plug connectors if they're still on the truck and batteries. I'd recommend either XT90 or EC5. The t-plugs will eventually overheat and deform if you run the truck hard. Enjoy brother!!👍😎🍻
You got yourself some Battle wounds on the Old Meat Mittens .. No different then working on the Sion ..😂😂
Yeah, the old skin ain't what it used to be apparently. LOL. And yes, I was working on the toaster yesterday, o2 sensor and some rear brake adjustments. Don't think it was working on the car that got me this time though, dogs and rc's..🤣
I watch for the wrecks ... Breaking stuff equals views .. 😂
That's called the Mc Mike Twizzel
Sweet.. Saturday morning with a Double Shot of mayhem
Was looking forward to seeing a new video. Appreciate MikeX
Thanks Crip! I wish I had more options, like terrain, editing, ect.. Maybe if my bro comes out of his cave we can do some demo derby, I mean racing on ice! That would be different, LOL. Cheers bro!🍻😎
Woow i loved!!! I hava a traxxas slash 4x4 with the same body, I love driving it with 3s 80c 20T Pinion, but I'm having problems with the differentials... I'm going to think about buying one like this 😍 Don't you have any problems with your Tekno using 3s? Anything you need to reinforce or any tips?
Thanks! The SCT410.3 has been solid for me. Only breakage thus far has been the A block, which is the front suspension plate. The SCT410.3 comes with plastic A, B, C, D blocks. I put an aluminum replacement on and no problems since. It is a crazy durable truck for sure. I have run 4s a handful of times in it, no problems. If I were going to run 4s regularly as some do, I would upgrade the plastic diff cross pins to steel, but otherwise these are known to handle 4s without problems.
@@knowair6767 wooow incredible, I'm going to have to change my traxxas slash 4x4 for a truck like yours. Also I can't find durable cvjoints, they all break or the pins come off very quickly. I find myself frustrated by that. I wish the tekno cvjoint would fit traxxas slash. but no way.
@@10izamarI hear ya. The TRX ultimate, or whatever they call the steel cvd's are just ridiculously priced, and apparently not that strong either.. What are you running for motor and esc? I have a Hoss 3s VXL that I grew tired of replacing the plastic driveshafts on. I put the Tekno cvds on the rear, still stock up front. The fronts don't break as often as the rears on the Hoss for me. What I don't care for with the Tekno upgrades is the 6mm stub axle means the hub uses a thin walled bearing. The bearings don't last very long compared to the stock TRX setup, however, the Tekno cvds and stub axles have been awesome for me. Haven't broken one yet. Pins are still looking very good too. FWIW, Tekno advises NOT to use their cvd's with RPM arms. Too flexible. I have to say though, if you feel you've "outgrown" the Slash, the Tekno SCT410 is well worth it's price tag. Save your TRX electronics to make the Tekno build more affordable, upgrade later if/when needed.
You should definitely get the indestructible Russian body, it’s totally worth it
Thanks! I have checked them out before. There was a bit of a hiccup in availability for a while after the war started. This stock body is over 2 years old now, definitely past it's prime LOL. What you can't see is that I added bracing front to rear to "triangulate the body cage. It works awesome. Before doing that, the body would fly off constantly since the back half is missing.. I think I'm going to buy another stocker first and see how it holds up with the cage mod. But first, I must get every penny's worth out of the body I have!! LOL.. I call it sharkbit!!😂
That's a tuff little machine
Looks like a great bash in the snow!
Thanks! I sometimes wish winter lasted longer, LOL.
@@knowair6767 I understand that to an extent… the cost of heating where I live is too expensive though
@@BargainBashersRc I hear that!! Heating with Pro-pain here!! Did the pellet stove for a few years, cheaper but more work, cold floors and outer rooms.. joined a fuel co-op, cut the pro-pain bill almost in half.
@@knowair6767 I live in a condo, all electric and the rates are high here
@@BargainBashersRc oof! Sounds expensive. You can get a pretty good "lay of the land" in my vids. At the top of the hill. Wind blows pretty good, especially in winter. Electric heat would break me for sure..
I think i recognize that xmaxx!
Ain't she a beaut Clark?! 😜
Are you new to this? Just wondering, I found your site by mistake!
@@JoshLudden-bq6db New to YT or RC? YT I guess you could say, more like ill equipped honestly, LOL. Not new to RC'S though.

Definitely awesome truck .
The plow truck running down the road in the Background is perfect..
Love the in play commentary
That one almost landed in your lap
Awesome.. love the night ride
That Driveway is about as clean as the North way ..
Cleaner, no salt!!😉🤣
Nice power in the x Also good Air assault🤙
Thanks bro! It could definitely use some better tires for the snow..The Arrma 8s BF's are awesome "all rounders" but, for the snow I would like a chunkier tire. Pickings are slim for affordable alternatives since the Duratrax options have been discontinued. I can't afford the Proline or Jconcepts offerings. Well, I guess I could but, can't want to, LOL. I'm hoping for at least one good snowfall before the season ends. I really would like to make a "mega" ramp from snow and just go full bore up the driveway and "send it" like the big air guys at least once, LOL.
It's gonna happen no doubt@@knowair6767
Red cat's best. I have an 6 s shredder Was looking at the machete good Thrash of the Redcat kaiju subbed
Thanks brother! Yeah, the Kaiju is a fun truck for sure. I think what I love the most is that it was "cheap" to buy, therefore I don't have very high expectations. Or concerns if I break it, LOL. But honestly, it has been so reliable. I have thrashed it in mud, water, snow..still on the original ESC! I swapped the motor for a 4074, but only to get a little more low end power over the stock 4068. The original motor never gave me any problems. The 4074 was a $40 Surpass from Amazon. The Kaiju still represents one of the best bang for the buck 6s rigs on the market I feel. Happy bashing Bro!!
Beach weather Brother
Hellyeah Crip!! Was gonna open up the swimming pool but weatherman says it's gonna rain later this week.. bummer. Hey, how's those ice skates I sent ya for Xmas working out?😎🍻

Thanks!! It's small and simple but the trees sure add some spice!! LOL One day, it'll get an expansion!! Now you know why I run stock power.. just don't have the space for any big block action. Fine by me, keeps costs in check..😛👍
