I must say, such a nice reaction mashup video. I love the movies, esp. this one! Even if they sometines differ from the books, I think PJ & his team captured the essence of the books very well. Themes like friendship, loyalty, generosity, courage, greed, betrayal, redemption, etc. will always be timeless. They are treated so well here. Btw, from all the reacting ppl, I like the couple with the red-haired girl, they have such nice authentic reactions & smart comments. They seem to have a great relationship, too. I also like the Asian (?) girl, such genuine emotional reactions, without being over the top. Most others are ok, too. That other couple, on the other hand, the one that's dressed up like elves, with the guy wielding the little sword (no pun intended) is kinda stressful & annoying tbh. But to each their own. Thank you for this awesome video. Good to see all these ppl cheer, cry & laugh at the same moments as me. Shows how awesome those movies are in invoking emotions.

My top 5 "epic bravery moments" by a single character from this movie (even if the character had backup: the final decision was his / her): 5. Pippin jumping onto the pyre to save Faramir 4. Aragorn confronting the Army of the Dead 3. Faramir riding with a handful of men into a battle that he knew he could not win, a real suicide squad 2. Sam fighting & defeating Shelob (the giant spider) 1. "I am no man" by Eowyn (and equally brave: Merry striking first, which weakened the Witch-King) I knowv there are more epic moments, e.g. Legolas taking down an Oliphant, or Eomer's spear throw that took down 2 of them, but I think these actions are rather linked to skill (though they are, of course, also very brave to even try). What is your "bravery" moment?

The hair from her is very important to gimli and what happens after the movies end. Gimli gets the hair put into crystals that are a heirlooms to his family. It also helps build a bridge between dwarf and elf.

That scene in which Faramir is trying to retake the city, while his father has a meal, is one of the best montages I've seen in a movie. It's a true cinematic masterpiece. Peter Jackson asked Billy Boyd (the actor who plays Pippin) to compose the song for this scene. He then filmed it; i.e. let the cameras roll without even bothering to hear the song even once. The first take was the one that we see in the movie.

This visual transition from Smeagol to Gollum is sick af. It is mentioned in the books that Smeagol was from a race similar to Hobbits. After he found the ring, he used its invisibility power to steal from or play cruel pranks on his neighbours, until they banished him from their village. You kinda imagine how becoming evil, bitter & lonely starts manifesting on the outside. But seeing his body & mind decay like this, this was Peter Jackson's idea, and I think he did an excellent job.

Wow, this is my first time watching people react to this show (other than nerds/geeks), and it's crazy that these people don't know anything about RPG games. 2:05 this dude has no idea what RPG means, it seems. Literally role-playing, you gotta live the game, ofc you get invested, that's the whole point. 2:56 10 years is normal for a rpg session, if not more. That's how lots of kids in 80's, 90's and even 2000's spent their weekends before internet and computers being so common

After the ring was destroyed: Frodo left Middle Earth, so that he may be fully healed. Aragorn returned Gondor to it's former glory, and ruled happily with Arwen for 120 years. He had one son and two daughters. When his time drew near, he chose to take command of his own end. He laid in the House of the Kings in Minas Tirith with Gondor's past rulers and drifted into eternal sleep. Arwen passed one year later. Gimli became the Lord of the Glittering Caves under Helm's Deep, as it was rich with Mithril. He kept his word to Galadriel, and encased the strands of hair within glass and treasured it. Legolas restored the woodlands of Middle-Earth that were ravaged by the war, along with adventuring with Gimli. After Aragorn's death, Legolas made a ship of his own in Ithilien, and left Middle-Earth to cross the sea to reunite with the rest of the elves in the Undying Lands. Gimli crossed the sea with Legolas, due to his close friendship with the elf, and was the only dwarf that was offered that honor. Samwise married Rosie and had 13 children. He was also elected Mayor of the Shire for seven consecutive seven-year terms (49 years.) Afterwards, Sam was given passage to the Undying Lands to reunite with Frodo, as Samwise was also a Ring-Bearer, even for a short time. Pippin became the 32nd Thane of the Shire, and held that position for 50 years. He had one son named Faramir Took I, who later married Sam's daughter. After he retired as Thane, he left The Shire and went to Gondor with Merry. He remained there for the rest of his life, and was entombed in the Hall of the Kings, and later moved to be laid to rest alongside Aragorn. Merry was knighted by King Eomer and become Master of Buckland. He married, and wrote a book. He had at least one son. At 102, he returned to Gondor with Pippin, dying around the same time as Pippin. He was laid to rest in Gondor with Pippin, and later moved alongside Aragorn.

You may or may not know, but that giant spider has a name & backstory, too. Her name is Shelob, and she is ancient, older than the elves, and even Sauron kinda feared, or at least respected her. Every now & then she caught & ate some of his orcs patrolling through Mordor, but Sauron didn't bother & let it happen. They had something like a mutual agreement: Shelob would keep the mountain road to Mordor safe from intruders, so nobody would get in, and Sauron would just leave her alone, even if she was sometimes eating his orcs. It was a small price for him to pay for excellent guardianship. It is not known what became of Shelob after Sam stabbed & wounded her. In the books it is said that this was the most intense pain she had ever felt. Many readers think she probably died soon after.

I love that a number of them picked up the magnitude of the hold the ring had over Frodo. When I was younger I thought Frodo an awful character who constantly ends up in stupid situations but now I realise how tenuous his hold on himself he had, right up until the last moment when the ring finally broke his resolve. Amazing work editing this together, thoroughly enjoyed living this again vicariously!
