Heya Greg. Another video was implying that this system has a limitation that you can't use it on R8 collets of different sizes because each requires a different pressure. That you would need to change your entire tool setup to something like the Tormach TTS system. Did I get that correctly? Thanks so much

Why does it need to be SO loud?

Nice looking accessory, but it's not a power drawbar - it's a collet opener/closer. A power drawbar removes the collet so you can insert another collet of a different size. None the less, it looks like it would make opening the collet much quicker than using the wrenches. (Machinist with 40+ years experience.)

How much for the draw bar?

Every component is extremely well thought out and engineered for great functionality and ease of installation. I just bought a 5500 mill and will definitely be getting some of these. Thank you

Garbage I bought one and I pushed the button it move about 4 or 5 inches and started making a loud wining noise. Took apart. Gear was stripped it was plastic. Checked how hard it was to lift head and there should have been no problem. Besides it was going down not up so there was no extra weight on it. Garbage

Is it still possible to do fine height adjustments with the manual wheel, or does the power lift make it to hard to crank manually now ?

Eagerly awaiting these upgrades, and I understand supply chain hiccups, not unlike a zillion others for lots of companies that are likely caused by COVID-19. Using the mill is a bit tough due to being a wheelchair user I can't reach the z-axis handwheel but have worked around the problem with a drill, extension, universal, and socket for moving the z-axis and getting by that way. PM has issues too, and the X-axis power feed has been delayed also. So hard as it may be, I'll just have to behave like a grown-up and have a little patience.

$950 dollars for a power draw bar for the LMS 5500 is the same price as the LMS 3990 mini milling machine!! PLEASE LOWER YOUR PRICES!!!

Just installed this model on my LMS 5500; works fine, and definitely a huge improvement over using the hand-wheel. Some minor improvements would be nice--for example, the provided mounting plate's 3 primary lugs were about 10 degrees off from mounting square to the head, which is odd--but since I had already removed the handwheel from my mill, I couldn't throw it on there to re-drill it or turn the holes into circular slots. And the included manual knob, while a nice touch, is too small to fit the shaft--had to drill it out. Overall, a fine improvement for the mill.

Why? I rather use cnc conversion.

I installed one on my LMS 5500 mill. It was easy to install and works great. I use it with both TTS and 3/4" straight shank tool holders.
