La suite venitienne
Италия
This is a serial project by Francesca Seravalle about the perception of Venice through the window. The window is a special observatory to sample social dynamics and life in the heart of Venice. Through repetition and careful analysis, you can get to recognize the tourists and the Venetians at a glance. In this way, you can finally distinguish life and character from the few Venetians left, understand by life on a secondary canal, where tourist goes on gondolas and sandals, and locals on different kind of boat sanpierotta, cofano, topa, topo etc... They are catalogued by #touristlife, #venetianlife #soundofvenice #tipsofgondoliers. A special playlist is dedicated to the disasters that happened in Venice, like the cruise crash (02/06/19) and another big risk of collision (08/07/19) of a big ship on the Venice docks, the high tide of 12 November 2019, alarm for Coronavirus virus... Venice recently has become a special test of the fragility of the ecological and economical ecosystem.

Gondolier singing "Nessun dorma" or "Let no one sleep". It is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot (text by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni) and one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera. It is sung by Calaf, il principe ignoto (the unknown prince), who falls in love at first sight with the beautiful but cold Princess Turandot. Any man who wishes to wed Turandot ...

La Gioventu' di Tazio
i saw the documentary … why does and older man be so obsessed by a young boy so inappropriate … getting pedophilic vibes dislike
The music the film is sublime
This may be my favourite film of all. Stunning. Dirk Bogarde is extraordinary and it so heartbreaking and beautiful to watch. ❤
Aschenbach looked terrible after his “make-over”.
My favorite movie. It always fascinates me, the best cinema ever! And it breaks my heart, every time.💔
My favourite film. I adore it and Dirk Bogarde is magnificent. Dazzling Mahler.❤
Imagine that Tadzio is a girl, & his energy, flamboyance, detachment, a quality of staring politely, a self-centeredness, & a playful fascination with this old, solitary man would all come through as a very natural mutual attraction. And it would be poignant, moving. And despite a flippant detachment, her care for the old man is real. Except the adolescent is young man. Mahler's score escorts us over to imagine such a bond. And we're moved by it. At the end when Tadzio points to eternity is a gesture exclusively for the old man. It's his declaration of that fealty of the heart, the bond. The old man responds to this declaration, in kind. And dies from the epidemic infection. The message is simple. Love is love. We can't dictate who we fall for. I can't recall the movie now, it was 40+ years ago I saw it. The old writer likely had the chance to leave Venice & escape being infected, but he chose to stay, knowing the risk. And he was glad to. It was not sad. His love, & their mutual declaration, was a benediction before he passed. At peace for the first time in perhaps decades.
❤❤❤
The movie is masterpiece but poor Björn I am so sorry for what he experienced
Perse dreqin nuk del i lirë filmi në you tube????Sa do të pres ende për t'a parë???😢
WONDERFUUUUUULLLL
MAHLER AT IS BEST
4:52 peak
VISCONTI. ÉSTA PELI HIZO MUCHO DAÑO....
bu harika
Quel magnifique et triste film , divine musique
I forgot to add that I am now reading the story by Thomas Mann.
Watching this great movie for the umpteenth time. Superb acting by DB ,Mahler’s music is so beautiful.
Dirk Bogarde after playing many light roles finally came into his real abilities, tour de force acting, 3:16 a terrific movie. One of my top 5 faves.
I've adored Bogarde in everything, even those silly Brit comedies. He's a magnificent screen presence. ❤️
Bjorn Andersen is indeed a gorgeous beautiful ethereal boy in this movie. Very attractive. But had he known what this movie did to him, he should have went on to be what he truly wanted to be, A pianist. He's as gorgeous as the pianist Franz Liszt, who the women , just couldn't keep their paws off of. Beauty is exceptional, most people made physically lacking of it. Bjorn on the other hand looked angelic, w/ those feminine eyes. enough to make one head do a 360.
Vajon Visconti ezt a lányos képű szőke fiút is megrontotta?
Pobre viejo gey se murió de amor
❤
Tu corazón estaba preparado para la muerte 9:41 9:41 ❤
Insinuante por ambos lados
Mahler's music became part of my torrid gay teen years after this movie. It's an intense watch. Not sure a film like this would be made now.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mhh, if you knew what happened to the guy, you would retain your enthusiasm!
Sir Dirk Bogarde was passed away on May 8th,1999. Today is 25th anniversary of his passing. A brilliant actor and writer.
Stunning cinematography, exquisite Venice, heartbreaking story, unrequited love. Music to die for.
He may have had eyes only for the boy but I've got eyes only for Bogarde: what a screen presence! Every frame, every facial expression conveying truckloads of the most profound and tragic human emotion. Magnificent depiction of a tortured soul. Adore Visconti's films. ❣️❣️
This scene is the essence of the film. Explain everything. I don't think Tadzio was making fun of Gustav, the reason is simple. A 15 year old noble boy with some education would never make fun of a man who could be his father, rich, titled (baron), famous as a musician. Gustav is an authoritative figure. At most, a boy of that age could have made fun of an ugly peer, with crooked teeth, plump, with glasses... or a homeless person, a disabled person, but certainly not a distinguished and authoritative person like Aschenbach. I think that in the film Visconti wanted to make it clear that the blond boy wanted to experiment something with the older man, perhaps also because the boy had understood that Gustav is rich and wealthy (the same old story in short...). The famous shot in which Gustav seems to be "on top of" Tadzio from behind and the fact that both were sexually "involved" in this scene (objective data visible to all, if you want to understand...) speaks for itself.
All of you so boring
Happy103rd birthday to DirkBogarde march 28th 2024, wonderfully unique actor and writer.
No other movie has music and visuals so integrated.
I was 20 years old when I saw “Death in Venice”, by Luchino Visconti. I was first captivated by the aesthetic images of Belle Epoque Venice, the music of Mahler and above all by the angelic beauty of young Tadzio, whose ambiguous attitude towards Gustav Achenbach who came to the City of the Doges for its atmosphere conducive to the development of his art, music, who rather sees himself taken with passion for this devastatingly beautiful Polish teenager. Just like Achenbach's character, I was disturbed by the beauty of the adolescent that Visconti portrays, sensitive to the interest shown in him, cruelly exacerbating Gustave's feelings towards him. Tadzio's attitude reminded me of mine, that of the teenager that I was, ambivalent about his sexual orientation, as is often the case at that age, prey to adults, some of my teachers among others, without suspecting the torments aroused in the latter. Enchanted yes, but also saddened by this story taken from the novel by Thomas Mann, which I had not yet read at the time, for poor Gustave Aschenbach, victim of his passion and the epidemic of Asian cholera which devastated Venice in 1911.
Love Dirk Bogarde❤ Beautiful eyes. Haunting in a way. Hauntingly Beautiful
Me too. Adore him! ❣️
Tadzio is flirtatious and provocative. In this scene he shows his age, that is, 15 years old. He's not a man, but he's not a child either. She wiggles her butt in front of Gustav who almost faints. Book and film are different...
Lolito.
You may watch, you may not touch.
