16lb is is stock weight for up to 147g no thing hot hot. If you running 124g +p and bigger use 18lb spring. And 14lb spring is for 124 and lower also better reduction in recoil

I can understand changing the recoil spring on a smaller gun to absorb more recoil (I have a number of "pocket guns," including the LCP Max), but I've found that it changes the cycling dynamics to where I have to test it with LOTS of different ammo types, to make sure it feeds and cycles correctly, before I feel comfortable carrying it for self defense. But in terms of just absorbing recoil, not a bad idea to try stiffer springs.

Expansion of a hollow point and wound channel is not gonna be what drops someone! Penetration and hitting the heart, spine, or brain is what drops an attacker on the spot. That’s why you just heard the story on Collin Noir’s channel about the guy who got shot 15 times with a 45 acp and was still able to shoot and kill his attacker and live to tell the story. Also truncated bullets (flat nose) penetrate deeper than ball ammo (round nose) and will usually stay on a straight path ball ammo tends to hook left or right and come out of the side of the target but don’t take my word for it tools and targets channel already verified this go watch the jelly man’s video.

G26 for me

Bought a Ruger 380 max from a "Grab" dealer. They sent me a used one and tried to slough it off as being new because it hadn't ever been registered. There were wear marks on the barrel and the slide. Since it had to be registered before my FFL would deliver, when I complained about the condition, the Grab... guys said, "Sorry, not our problem". Ruger however, not only made it right by sending me a new barrel and slide, but they did so quickly and without any hassle. As to the pistol itself, it's a Ruger, reliable, pretty accurate, light, unbelievably easy to carry and reasonably priced. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with it if you're looking for a competent EDC that you can rely on.

What front and rear sights do you have? I've heard that glock 43 sights will fit on the GX4

Why carry a 43X over a 19. Plus getting aftermarket mags etc etc. I love the GX4, summer carry and 19 winter carry.

The width and slimmer profile of the 43 feels so much more comfortable IWB than the blockier, and heavier 26. I've carried both but I do prefer the 43x as a day in day out concealed carry.

All I can say is carry one in the winter and one in the summer I own both and ain’t mad about it. Only people mad are the people who don’t own one 😂!! Get your money up is all I can say. Glock Fan Boy here 😂😂😂😂

Just to add to this, Hogue has dedicated grips for the Max in stock now. Also, I put the 13lb outer spring replacement and liked it. Max it up, y'all.

My regular EDC is the Glock 42. I installed MagGuts spring/follower in my Glock 42 magazine, giving it 7 rounds in the same space, yielding 7 +1. For pocket carry, I use the Sticky holster. For my spare mag, I use Strike Industries EMP +2, which gives 8 rounds. Other than the mags, my 42 is factory standard. The key to 380 for professional defense is the right ammo, which, for me, is either Fiocchi Extrema XPT or Hornady XPT; actually any XPT round works great. I also have the Glock 19, 43X and 44, which I regularly practice with. At this point, I have just under 4,000 rounds with the 42 and never experienced any issues.

Good comparison. IMO - a G26 with an extended mag might as well just be a G19. There's only a four ounce difference between a fully loaded G26 vs a fully loaded G19. Factor in the added weight of an extended mag on the 26, and you're probably at a three ounce difference. At that point, might as well just buy the 19 (granted, the 26 could always be carried with a standard mag for added concealment, unlike the 19). For me, the thickness and weight contribute as much to comfort as the overall dimensions of the firearm. While a fully loaded G43x only weighs three ounces less than a fully loaded G26, the thinner profile of the 43 makes a huge difference in comfort (a benefit you don't get by going from a 19 to a 26). I've owned a G26 for about 20 years and I haven't carried it in 15+ years. I'd rather carry my 43 or my 19 if I want something bigger. For whatever reason, the short/fat composition of the 26 just feels awkward compared to the 43X or the 19. If I were going to make an argument for the 26 over the 43x, it would boil down to one thing: the 26 can accept larger factory Glock mags including the 33 rounders. If that's a priority - the 26 is the clear winner - but I prefer the 19 if I want more capacity. I won't use Shield Arms mags in the 43x - the risk of using non-factory parts isn't worth the additional five rounds, IMO.

I can't believe there are so few aftermarket GX4 triggers (if any). I tried looking for some and didn't find a single one. I know it's a simple trigger system and doesn't really need to be improved... but at the same time... I wish there were more options.

I'm not a big glock fan n but tried one out at the range because I wanted to shoot a 380 without a full grip and they didn't have a sig. It must have been really broken in because the trigger was pretty nice (I normally shoot my canik and walther) and it was really easy to fully load. Honestly I liked it enough to buy one if they had a larger capacity without extending the mag.

Modifying aftermarket magazines is asking for issues. If u really want 8 rounds in a mag then just buy a +2 extension and add it to a factory glock mag. The Taran tactical plus 2 adds 2 rounds and doesn’t stick out any further than the peirce +1 pinky extension

Living in south FL where all year round its shorts/tshirt weather, my edc is the LCP Max.

My every day carry is a Glock 42 with Trijicon HD XR Night Sights and a 9 round ETS magazine fitted with an XGRIP for a full three-finger grip. I load the magazine with 8 rounds maximum, plus one in the chamber, to ensure 100% reliability. Ammo of choice is Underwood Extreme Penetrator 380+P. This combination has very little recoil, is very controllable and EXTREMELY accurate! I carry it 24/7 in a pocket holster and honestly it's so light and compact that I forget it's there. The best self-defense pistol is the one you never leave home without!

I usually use a lighter recoil spring in my Glocks. 14lbs. And it makes it shoot flatter with less recoil. And it’s way easier to rack. 👍🏽 I also put a 13lbs spring in my Glock 19….. man that thing shoots like a .22 💥
