    Huepar might have stopped making this unit. It seems very similar to the S7 Camera model from Mileseey, which i just received. The features are good, but I am surprised at how poorly the camera works during the day. I can see the red dot on a dark or light wall out to about 50 ft, but through the camera, not a chance. It is washed out and no red dot. The camera cross hairs finds it somehow, but i cant tell exactly what it is on (ex 4x4 post or the adjacent plank 4" back and to the side). Strangely, it is particularly bad in shadow vs a brightly lit wall, like the dark side of the fence when facing the morning sun. Do you think the camera was better on your Huepar unit than the Mileseey model? Mine is always on 2x zoom (as far as i can tell so far). Is yours adjustable (4x, 2x, 1x)? I expected the camera on the Leica X4 to be far superior in the sun, but it sounds like you dont think so? I need to use it at around 120ft to 160ft outside during the day. One last thing. You skipped the key (to me at least) offset feature that is fairly simple, but seems to be missing on almost every LDM device (non or Bosch have it). This is critical when repeat measuring with an offset like in outdoor sports events. I thought or one more thing. These new LDMs all seem to be missing the old tail piece that allows for hooking an outside corner and measuring to an inside corner (think diagonal in a room). Leica takes this to a high level with it changing the reference offset of the 5 locations into account automatically. Although auto is nice, i dont need that for another $200 in most cases. I look forward to your thoughts.

    Farway Digital Inclinometer has built-in 3.7VDC 300mAH lithium battery. Does 5VDC 500mAH USB battery charger work, or 5VDC USB2.0 or USB 3.0 port in the laptop work without damage the inclinometer? I think the maximum charge voltage for 3.7VDC lithium battery is 4.2VDC.

    • @laserlevelreview6350
      @laserlevelreview6350 Год назад

      No not easy to calibrate, No external access to the calibration grub screws/weights. It can be done by removing parts of the casing but extremely time-consuming as you would need to partially re-assemble for checking each time. It's not unusual for lasers in this price point to be like this as many come out of the same factory but are branded differently. Some of the more expensive tool brands are similar eg; Dewalt and Bosch also have no external access either. There are brands/models out there from laser specialists with external access to calibration screws but they are harder to find. Some Geo Fennel (Europe), Johson Level (US) and RedBack Lasers (Australia) are examples.

      Depends on how bright the room is and the colour of the wall. In not too well-lit an environment I would say about 3m on each side of the level. Never expect to see any laser outside in full sun.

      @@laserlevelreview6350 The Huepar S120 Laser distance Meter has two 'undocumented' calibration modes. One of those is for the inclination sensors and is accessed by holding down "Unit" button while powering on. The other is for making a minor correction in the distance (0 to 9 mm). It is accessed by holding down the "Mode" button while powering on. Lastly if one holds the "Off" button while powering on then all the LED segments are turned on and held on (it even shows the 'bluetooth' symbol which is not used in this model ... unless there is yet another secret button combination :-)

    Thanks for the review, better than others. I'm curious as to the accuracy of the the two vertical planes being exactly 90 degrees. Could one square up the plates on walls such that the walls were indeed 90? I'd test of course diagonals afterwards, but just curious how accurate this is? I realize this is not what it was designed for, but it would be convenient for laying out footings and even more if it were. Even for laying out batter boards on site.... thanks.

    Is this worth getting over say a Bosch 50c ? Similar price on Amazon and this looks better if you need to measure outside

    • @laserlevelreview6350
      @laserlevelreview6350 2 года назад

      The Bosch is a great tool but as you mentioned effectively useless outside, as you will not be able to see what you are targeting unless it's low light or over short distances. If you are just using inside either will do the job well and if you are more comfortable with a major brand like Bosch then that may be the way to go. If you want the flexibility of outside use with video targeting but don't want to spend big bucks then the Huepar is a great option. Hope this helps.

    Is it self leveling

    • @laserlevelreview6350
      @laserlevelreview6350 2 года назад

      Oh yes self levelling, pretty much all laser levels these days are. This model has a pendulum self levelling mechanism. You simply unlock the pendulum and it freely swings and uses gravity to find level. Remember to lock the pendulum when you are finished to protect the bearings. Movement is dampened by the use of magnets so that it finds level quickly.

  • @nexusly6720
    @nexusly6720 2 года назад

    Newb question how do you factor the devices size if you trying to measure a room for instance those several inches of the devices body when you putting the device against the wall.

    • @laserlevelreview6350
      @laserlevelreview6350 2 года назад

      Most laser measures have a setting where you can set where it measured from. Generally you can set to measure from the base of the housing so when you hold the base against a wall and aiming the laser output at an opposite wall you get the measurement between the two walls as the device knows how long it is and adds it automatically to the displayed measurement. Conversely you can set to measure from the front laser output of the device when required. Some laser measures also have an option to measure from the centre of a tripod mount. Others have a flip out narrow foot or spike on the base allowing to measure from the tip of that foot/spike. This is useful for measuring window or door frame diagonals for square. As the tip fits right into the corner. The model featured in the video does not have this last feature. Hope this helps.

      Fair comment, ill try and include testing accuracy on camera in the next video review. I did test it off camera and it was within stated tolerances (+/- 3mm/10m), I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in the video, but definitely did with the web site review. www.laserlevelreview.com/brands/huepar-brands/hands-on-review-huepar-hp-603cg-green-multiline-3d-line-laser/

  • @dbrophy
    @dbrophy 3 года назад

    Did you do any testing of the accuracy of this or the Leica X series? The Leica X3 / X4 state an accuracy of 1mm, where as the Huepar only lists 2mm. I'd love to know if this is just a case of Leica over stating the accuracy, or if they really are twice as accurate...

    • @laserlevelreview6350
      @laserlevelreview6350 3 года назад

      Both laser measures are extremely accurate so for most real world usage the stated differences between the two is not really significant. Human error in aiming tends to be a much bigger factor than the devices themselves. I have tested the Leica's in the past and they always seem to be pretty honest with their specifications, so the 1mm is probably correct. I didn't test the tolerance of the Huepar which is a bit of an omission on my part, but out of all of the laser distance measures i've used over recent years, they have all been pretty accurate not even the cheapest have been more than 2mm out. So I would be very confident in the specification of the Huepar. If extreme accuracy over very shorter distance is important for your application then the Leica would be the way to go. If its more general measuring over a greater range of distances your using it for then the Huepar would be fine.

  • @tekdeth3240
    @tekdeth3240 3 года назад

    These definitely seem amazing for the price. Do you happen to know what underlying differences allow for one model to only measure up to 90 meters, while the other can do 200? Is it a stronger laser diode? Different camera-sensor? Can't find anything about this online. Thanks for the great review!

    • @laserlevelreview6350
      @laserlevelreview6350 3 года назад

      I don't know for sure what the specific difference makes the range different. Laser output is the same so it must be either the pickup sensor or processing or both. Remember achievable range is very much dependent on the surface you are targeting. Also you will need a tripod to target a small target at ranges greater than about 60m. Hope this helps.
