I'm newer to performance and have a group that meets every several weeks I've been attending since November. I practice my performances ahead of time and record myself ... I've had some successful ones but couldn't quite figure out why - I think you just described what I was doing that made them successful! So I'll focus on that now intentionally - because what is the point of sharing music and performing if we're not enjoying the music ourselves!?! 😉

The difference is much much simpler: Minor chord is approximately 5.2 Hertz Higher than the corresponding Major chord. Musicians are so stupid. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_tuning

Thanks for the lesson! I came here because I'm trying to sing Stand By Me and play it on a bass guitar at the same time. The juggling analogy is right on! I'm going to take your advice and learn to sing it first over a simple bass part before I try an do it over the more complicated one.

This tutorial was designed for students in mind who are already familiar with which notes are in the chords. So basically, you could say that to create a diminished chord, you take the root note, and you add the third, and then you add a third to the third you just added. could formulate a way to create an augmented chord with this mentality?
Hi there! This is Bella answering with my other YT account... I would get more specific with half steps, because by just saying "a third" you may end up with a major or minor chord. Another way to think of diminished chords is to take a minor chord and lower the 5th a half step. Or take a major chord and lower the third and fifths a half step each. To make an augmented chord, take a major chord and raise the fifth up a half step. Hope that helps.
Or to get super specific: For Diminished chords: Start with the root and go up 3 half steps and then 3 more half steps. For Augmented chords: From the root go up 4 half steps and then 4 half steps again.
