      Thanks. Other than getting lost twice (although, that's a consequence of never before being there) the Three Brothers was a great site. Too bad no one knows it. The road we took to get in was the worst of two so, for those wanting to go there, find the second route.

    All the locals know about this area, and the path didn't just miraculously fall down from the sky. There's no need for you to advertise it in this video. Be careful to walk between the rocks and be warey of the trees. Come on guys, this is ridiculous advice. Step away from the fence and don't bother giving gratuitous advice when you don't even know if you are in Lapstone or Glenbrook, whether you are on NPWS land, crown land, private land or BMCC land.

    Please consider resorting the section from 40-55seconds. This is where you moved right to overtake the car and then the truck before cutting back across the path of the truck to return into the left hand lane and ramp off. At the point that you merged Right, you were about 50metres from the left hand ramp off into Lapstone. Poor decision making to overtake in this manner. And poor editing to leave this move in an online promotional video.

    • @GrahamClarkeQVP

      Certainly! Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your perspective and will carefully review the section you mentioned. The she will be right mate attitude is not what we should be fostering in Australia and that is what the ettamogah pub represents. To me personally "she'll be right mate" conjures up a nonchalant attitude about doing things meticulously and properly. The slapdash attitude implied by the saying is an insult to most people and the Ettamogah pub is the essence of this attitude. 😎🇦🇺👎

    • @GrahamClarkeQVP
      @GrahamClarkeQVP 6 месяцев назад

      The "she'll be right, mate" attitude is a quintessential part of Australian culture, embodying a laid-back and optimistic approach to life's challenges. It's an attitude that suggests things will work out fine in the end, often accompanied by a sense of camaraderie and resilience. This mindset encourages people to face difficulties with a sense of humor and a belief that, no matter how tough things may seem, they'll ultimately turn out alright. It's not about ignoring problems but rather facing them with a certain level of confidence and determination.

    I just loive looking at the viaduct, having cycled over it and climbed under it for photos during my visits from WA to family in the BM. What a magnificent construction, as was the whole railway in its many iterations. Some great mountain bike trails around there too, so hoping by the time I next visit the tunnel is cleared and open for walkers and cyclists.

  • @johnstaring3210
    @johnstaring3210 Год назад

    Very interesting. As an ex Mountains resident in my teen years I always heard about the tunnel, the mushroom farm and the zigzag. Now resident in WA (Perth region) I have ridden my mountain bike to both portals to explore whilst visiting family in and around the mountains. Nothing much has changed in the several times I have visited, everything just sitting there un-used. Such a shame as this tunnel could be developed into a great walking and cycling route for tourism, just like the Swan View tunnel on the eastern fringes of Perth was. Come on Blue Mountains council or NSW Department of Recreation/Sport/Tourism, just do it. What a boon it would be.

    Many thanks. We used holiday at Lawson every August from the time I was about 5. The cottage we stayed in was at the eastern edge of Lawson so we got to know all the Lawson Falls and also those at South Hazelbrook. 70 years ago, the signage at Hazelbrook was even more basic than it seems to be nowadays, but we found our way around somehow or other. I'd not be doing it today, but back then we would happily drink from the creeks, with no ill effects.

  • @doubledee9675
    @doubledee9675 Год назад

    An outstanding lookout at McMahon's Point, Strangely, I only discovered it 3 or 4 years ago. You can look west, past the southern side of Mt Solitary and over mountains to the ranges around Jenolan Caves. More mountains as you look south. The immediate view is of great sandstone cliffs. Look down and you see the headwaters of Warragamba Dam. On the way out is Battleship Tops, which still has some ancient aboriginal rock paintings in a huge cave. Sadly. some years ago, some louts burnt a huge fire in the cave, and smoke damage covers about half the painting, but it's still worth seeing.

  • @doubledee9675
    @doubledee9675 Год назад

    Memories, memories. Back in the early 1950's, my sisters and I had a winter of illness, with chicken pox, mumps and measles. Our parents rented a cottage at Lawson where we spent a fortnight during the August school holidays to recuperate. After that, we returned for those holidays for many years, and my parents built a retirement home there. During those holidays, we got to know the North and South Lawson falls well. We'd pack a lunch, get some meat from the butcher and have a bbq lunch out. As time went by, we ventured to the South Hazelbrook falls as well It was great to see the Lawson falls again via video. The opening of this video showed an old store, just as you crossed the line. In the times I'm writing of, that was the general store, although there was also a much smaller grocery store on the southern side of the line. The general store shown was where we'd order wood and coal for the fuel stove and heating fires. The shops on the southern side have completely changed in the last few years. The taxi rank was on the southern side, the taxi being one of the early post-war Humber Imperial limousine - a very rare car even in those days.
