WTH happened? You were on pavement going straight. Hope you’re ok. 😮
Yep I’m fine, my GoPro isn’t though
Is it possible to tow a trailer using the Africa Twin?
Yes, I towed the Kipmoto trailer and have thought about a random wheel trailer.
Yes, I towed the Kipmoto trailer and have thought about a tandem wheel trailer.
I have always wondered if I could do that with one of those single wheel trailers
Unless your doing hard off road I think a two wheel trailer would be better for the AT
Thats a hell of a set up there.. thats a lot of bike and weight to be tossing around off road
This bike is totally off road capable. Yes it takes skill to wrangle this beast. Sometimes the weight works in your favor.
Hello, finally if you asking today,it’s good or not ?
Yes these are a great value and they are great. 👍
Ammm really ? Doesn't that when you push the brake up gives pressure to the up master pump +
Yes, it won’t work with this master cylinder, I ended up using the master cylinder from my 2019 Africa twin. You could make a manifold to add the handel bar master cylinder.
@@IronButterflyAT I put cable adapter but is hard to pull and thing to go with 4 to 1 ration and hydraulic clutch adapter to pull as cable as the cable ox
What ox is this ? I made myself one cable version and thinking make it hydraulic with clutch adapter to hydraulic ? How easier is to pull and also do you know how much travel to lock the rear wheel is required ?
It is not for the CRF 300l, they sent me one for another brand bike 🤷♂️ but they did say they will have…someday. I just made my own, just get the rear brake master cylinder for a 2019 Africa Twin and an after market left hand master cylinder. You will need the tear drop adapter from moto madness. I have a video of what I did.
I have the denali mini already, its great but u shouldve gone with the mega. Can u still use both at the same time? Dual horn?
No, as it would be drowned out by the air horn, plus the bomb is loud.
What was that beeping when you backed up???
Sound affect in editing 😬
My buddies and I had a similar outcome out on the River Road West a couple of years ago. After we each dropped a few times in the super soft and deep sand in the washes, we backed out and went up and had a cooling-off lunch in the Chisos Mountain Lodge for a few hours :) Those roads out in that section of the park are definitely not ones for solo riding, for sure. Glad you got back out okay!
Great video! No need to make a bracket, the Skene P3 bracket will rotate and allow the lights to be attached directly to the top license plate bracket and fit the lights directly next to the license plate.
Love the way your riding fam! Your doing great :)
Thank you
Love this video and the song
Thank you
Awesome! Glad it kept you safe! No matter how much we ride we still sometimes misread the trail or things happen and thats what protection is for! Im gonna get this protection for myself too
Thank you, yes this is a game changer as it allows me to continue to ride with confidence and I feel it will protect me 95% more than if I did not have it.
I own one. But enjoyed your review. Thx!
Thank you.
Great job Leo and what a great riding partner and advice and support. Would love to ride that someday.
Se fai un video tutorial di smontaggio e montaggio ti ringrazio e fai un sacco di visualizzazioni 😊
Where can i find your fusebox with 12v out plug that i see in front of your bat tery, looks like a modified tool box , so cool, i love it
Yes it is modified to house my auxiliary switched power for charging devices when the bike is off.
How much of a pain in the ass is it to get it Registered and a title for this Trailer ?
I don’t know, I don’t think it’s big enough to require registration 🤷♂️
Would be helpful to see the disassembly and reassembly process.
Drama queen
Do the seat collect water?
No, keep it cleaned and sealed and it will last a long time. I have had mine for three years and it’s holding up very well.
Won't it void the Honda limited warranty perchance?
I do not know, it did not on my bike 🤷♂️
Could you please kindly post the torque values for all nuts and bolts you've used with the setup?
They would be with the instructions that come with the unit which will be the same as OEM torque values.
@cbr6864 do you mean he should shift his weight rearward and then to give a bit more gas to get the front tire on top of the sand?
Yes I should shift back and not let off the gas’s to keep the front tire float on top. This caught me off guard!
Bummer. Do you still have protection for the rest of the trip or once the air bag goes off, it's done deal?
It has two canisters in the jacket so you get two crashes before you have to change them out and you can change them out in the field, so no worries about that totally reusable
Have you had the opportunity to wear the air bag shirt in hot weather yet? If so how was it? I am seriously considering one. Also by coincidence I have a '21 CRF300L Rally and a 2018 ATAS DCT. Though I planning on selling the ATAS. It's a great bike, but too tall and heavy for my tastes and skill level. Even at 6' and strong I never feel totally comfortable on it. I have dropped it more than once just coming to a stop on uneven ground. Having said that I am relative newb.
I have worn it in the high 90s, as anything as long as you’re moving it is very comfortable.
Are you better in the arm?
Yes, thanks for asking
I am 61 years old was wearing a fox armour and come off after getting X-rays in hospital I only had badly bruised ribs, brought this Alpinestars tech-air 7x it’s not cheap but worth it at my age the way I see it is if i miss 2 weeks of work due to broken ribs I will lose more in income.
Yes, for the aging adventurers this is a great protection option and it will help you stay safe and healthy.
You sound like james Cameron
Hi Tony, did you ever locate to correct size bearings & seal for the rear hub?
No, I haven’t even started looking for him. There’s a bearing place near me. I might just bring the old bearing for the number and see if they have something for it.
Nice bike trip!
Thanks, today was awesome
Safe ride Tony. Kenny and I just did but now it’s hotter than before. You will enjoy the Rockies
Thank you
I run the d sports on my KTM , they are awesome, I dont have a bunch of extra weight on the back of my bike thought.
Good value tire for sure. I’m trying the Tusk Talon hybrid next.
Which trail was this mostly? Did they change up North or South loop?
These are the ATV and UTV roads. They are cutting more trails for the ridge trail but the north and south loop remain as is…for now. Wiled cat and North Pole are as is for now too.
🎉❤1
great job on the hill at 27:00 , that's tricky even on a 2 stroke.
Thank you
Try riding one gear up, it will make you ride faster and way smoother, yes it will require more clutch work.
I ride in 2nd and 3rd gear as my rear sprocket is a 48T. Next time I will try riding a gear up. Thank you
Haha
Likely get bounced for copyright. Looks like fun though.
Not yet 😀
What is your height and is this the high or low Corbin?
I’m 6-1 and this is not the low seat. It is definitely taller than the stock seat. But it is very comfortable. I use the Honda low seat for off road.
@@IronButterflyAT I’ve heard it’s 3/4” higher, sounds like you feel it’s more like 2 “s?
Never measured it but it feels wider and taller then the stock or the lowest witch is lower then the stock low setting.
I use same fastway pegs on my adv, love them
would a shuttle valve works with this with anothe brake line and cylinder without modifying the rear brake master cylinder
Yes I made one for my Africa Twin, just put it inline to the line coming from the the rear master cylinder.
@@IronButterflyAT nice, i just want a reference for my project bike. do you have video of it by any chance ?
ruclips.net/user/shortsmV-0oT2_2RM?si=-8K0FaJGVEpOjyn5
I ended up using the master cylinder from my AT as I was not using it anymore but a shuttle valve should work too.
ruclips.net/user/shortssXC3Q8hRgjE?si=dnBW7p0i_rqYsK2r
Your video would be better without the tv running…
But I appreciate that you are giving the real customer perspective!
@shawnperry5991 thanks
Looks fun bro.
This was one of the best BDR dual sport ride I have done.
Hi Tony, did you changed only rear spring or front also ? I'm wondering if rear only installed, then front should be leaning forward? and also as this is quite old video, how did you find your suspension at the end ?
I did the front too to eliminate the front end dive on breaking, makes a big difference.
@@IronButterflyAT thanks for reply! Are you still with hyperpro springs? If yes, what's your long term opinion?
Yes, I like it much better then the stock
Be safe Tony. Glad you are doing good and have that airbag protection now.
This video is a couple years old, but wondering if this is a group in the Austin area still?
Yes it is, ADV riders of Austin
@@IronButterflyAT Awesome! I’m interested and I know someone else that will be too! What’s the main form of communication for the group. As far as upcoming rides and such?
FB
You need room in the jersey and jacket to allow it to inflate, right?
Yes, I got a new mesh jacket today. 4xL
Alpinestars suggests enough room to fit a golf ball into the outer layer.
Hi, love your videos. I wear a xxxl jacket over mine, and or a xxxl jersey. Stay safe out there 👍
Are you using the parking brake lever or the foot pedal? I have a DCT and use the foot rear brake and I use the hand/parking brake when bike is on center stand to stop the rear wheel.
I deleted the foot lever and removed the parking brake lever from the handle bars. I installed a left hand master cylinder for the rear brake.
Do you have a video riding the bike with this mod. I am interested of doing the same thing. I also have an AfricaTwin dcg.
Just about every video on my channel with the AT is with this mod.
