No, it was Hampden Fire Siren Near the Hampden Fire Station In NZ near the Near the North Island but in the South Island
Typical NZ fire siren to call out volunteer fire brigades. More effective than pager and phone based systems.

It’s to alert the NZ volunteer firefighters that there is an emergency and to respond to the fire station to help the community.
