What must a Chinese audience think of a Chinese conductor and a Chinese orchestra interpreting a Western composition that uses interpretations of Chinese sounds representing Chinese poems? Most noteworthy is the rhythmically and musically spirited rendition of this composition. The tenor is one of the few singing this part who - probably with the help of sound mixing - can be heard apart from the orchestra. The mezzo-soprana is wonderful too.

好久没去上海听音乐会了，疫情后

Bravo! Excellent! Amazing! Thank you all, especially percussion and brass section! I love this music long time. But this is the first time I cried while listening. The depth of emotion in the performance may be unique to SSO has played countless the Butterfly lovers violin concerto which express similar tragic love stories. How beautiful from 20:05 ! And as a fellow East Asian, I want all Americans to listen to this performance and know that Chinese orchestra can deeply understand to play their music. Just as listening to Ozawa's performance half a century ago helped American people understand Japan and the Japanese people.

I really wish that I could get one of those Buffet Crampon Mopane clarinets. Maybe not the Tosca like Dai Le has. Such a beautiful instrument. I'm very glad to be able to hear Dai Le play it. I wish that I could hear more of her. Does she have her own channel?

_Un Temps disparu_ for _erhu_ and orchestra (2002) by the Chinese-born French composer Chen Qigang (陈其钢, b. Shanghai, 1951), who has lived in France since 1984, obtaining French citizenship in 1992. He was Olivier Messiaen's last student and lived with him as well, from 1984 to 1988. The piece uses the _qin_ piece "Mei Hua San Nong"《梅花三弄》(Three Repetitions of "Plum Blossoms") as a primary motif. Performed by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, dir. Mr. Long Yu (余隆, b. 1964); the _erhu_ soloist is Ms. Lu Yiwen (陆轶文, b. 1991). Filmed on November 12, 2021.
