The Royal Hawaiian Hotel room tour: epic ocean views!

scottleazenby.com/newsletter/
The Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu offers some of the best views of any hotel on Waikiki Beach. The rooms are somewhat dated, but I quite enjoyed my one night stay.
This video is an overview of my room in the Mialani Tower. As you'll see, the best part about it was the private balcony and unobstructed view of Waikiki Beach.

Madison Hotel Taipei suite tour (Pro tip: pay extra for the suite)
Просмотров 2303 месяца назад
Sign up for my newsletter: scottleazenby.com/newsletter/ The Madison hotel in central Taipei is (so far) my favorite hotel in all of Taiwan. It's a fairly small property with a distinct 'boutique hotel' vibe to it. It's quiet, clean, and very well located within the city. I upgraded to a suite for my 1-night stay, and I'm glad I did. Sure, it was a little small, but excellent in every other way.

Rome Fiumicino Airport Hilton suite tour: a nice home away from home!
Просмотров 1394 месяца назад
Long story short, it is most certainly worth the cost to upgrade to a suite at the Hilton at the Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). They're huge, very cozy, and very home-like. It felt like staying in an apartment rather than a hotel room. Pro tip: make sure you ask for a room/suite with a view of the airport. Otherwise you won't have much of a view at all.

A quick look at the ORD Hilton Family Suite: it's BIGGER (but not necessarily better)

The Family Suite at the Chicago O'Hare Airport Hilton is an excellent choice for anyone who needs (or wants) a little extra space during their overnight stay. The important thing to note is that it's not any fancier than the standard rooms at this property. It's just larger. This is a quick video tour showing all of its quirks and features.

When it comes to plane spotting from hotel rooms, you can't beat the Howard Hughes Suite at the TWA Hotel. Quick room tour: Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport (with an amazing view!)

The Hilton at Chicago O'Hare airport is probably one of the best plane spotting hotels I've ever stayed at. The views of ORD were amazing from my room on the 10th floor (which just so happened to be not as exciting has the view). This is an extremely convenient hotel though, which more than makes up for any of its flaws.

I stayed at the MS a few years ago, and it is highly overpriced and overrated. It's interesting from a historical perspective being the first hotel in Waikiki and being centrally located. We stayed in the historic building and our best view was out a tiny square window in the bathroom overlooking Diamond Head while on the toilet. I remember how mad my partner was at the time but now I just laugh about it. Needless to say, won't be staying here again. And yes Scott, just like us, you made a lousy choice...lol.

We’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past 18 months and our experience has been very different. Our rooms have been better appointed, our view was much better. This review covers only one type of room - the non-renovated rooms - and the reviewer does not mention this. A review acknowledging that there are better quality rooms available at this property would have been more fair-minded. Comparing this hotel to the Moana Surfrider across the road isn’t particularly fair as that hotel is higher rated and vastly more expensive. It’s really going to depend on what category of room you book as the rooms we have been assigned during our stays were not like this.
