How to Easily Cut Off and Restart Your Weaving Projects - One Stick Method
Просмотров 17 тыс.5 лет назад
Here I show you how I cut off one weaving project and easily retie my warp to continue weaving. I use a stick slightly wider than my warp as well as reusable zip ties. This works well for when you are weaving a long warp with multiple pieces and you don't want to weave until the end of the warp before cutting everything off. It also works well for sampling. Amazing, I love the colors. I am learning how to dye, and your video os extremely helpful ! I was thinking of doing a rainbow of maybe purples to pink or red to pinks. I have to think about the way it would be done. I guess it would be called a gradient, but I think I would call it a rainbow of the colors.Love your video, thanks.❤

The first one is lighter than the other 3, and the middle 2 are very similar however 3 has a little more of the burgundy and 4 has more burgundy and the most color variation. So there is a difference.

Thank you for your videos, they're fantastic! I'm new to dyeing and am having a big issue with my emerald green rinsing out and turning blue. I've tired batching for longer, rinsing in cold water first. I can't work out why. My soda ash is old, I've been using the same batch of soda ash for multiple skeins - could that be affecting it? I appreciate any help you can give me, thank you

I feel like i’m used to look at this stitch from a short foray into embroidery. It bothers me not seeing the point where i see the thread i know i’m supposed to catching to form the loop/knot.

Hi I know you posted this video 4 years ago and I'm not sure if you'll be able to see my mes. But I just found you recently as I want to dye some cotton yarn. It's my first ever trying out hand dyed yarn so im trying to find as much info as possible. What id like to know is ,Is soda Ash the same as baking soda or washing soda? And I have a 700g yarn hank in one piece, should I divide it into 100g or its better to leave it whole? I really would like to try and speckle my yarn as that's my favourite style of hand dyed yarns. Thank you in advance.

So to be clear: you don’t worry about keeping the warp cross? Do you re-wind your warp after dying? Could I make one inch wide sections for my sectional beam and go directly onto the beam from this? Sorry for so many questions 😂

I have mix result with leaving it for under 24 hours. Having said that, I mostly dye very deep and dark colours. Also using a very fine mercerized cotton for weaving. That realy needs to sit in the dye for a long time. Good preparation is very important .

I have a question...After dyeing a weft for weaving, do you have to process (wash, etc) the warp to achieve an even shrinkage rate? or Can you use the warp off the cone? Thank you I hope you see this.
