I had a manual when these first came out. Beautiful but at the time I didn't realise about the rust traps. My friends had Astons and Jensens. They all just rusted away. They would be worth abit now, but the only one still going is my Bentley, imported from South Africa afew years ago, and now waxoiled.

Somethings in life are born so perfect that they cannot be beaten . The Fender Strat guitar , the common biro pen , or the Triumph Bonneville . But its said that the designers of the Series Jaguar , did not know what they had created ! The shape , not only sensational but elegant and graceful unlike anything else unless you include the Jensen Interceptor . Even the dashboard remained unchanged and up to date with the type of customer who ordered this car for 20 years ! and even today it still looks fresh and desireable .

Bruce Reynolds reckoned the 3.4 was the best !

Idle is a bit rough and that's in Park, how does it idle in Drive. Also, the oil pressure is way down, it should be 30 - 40 psi when hot and in drive. There's rot on the inside bottom edge of the driver's door and it's pointless having the hot air pipe straddling the engine if there's no connecting pipe to the air filter housing. It's not even forced air as there's no hole in the top of the manifold, if there was I'd have fitted a turbo to mine years ago. My wife agrees with Jim Kinsey that it's worth about £5,000.

Beautiful car pity about the colour I’ve owned two one was British racing green and the other one was guards red unfortunately they are money pits since the 70s I’ve owned about a dozen jaguars my first one was a 1964 mark 2 my last one was a XJS V12 it’s a disease

I bought one of these in British racing green manual with overdrive that was in 1983 I think it was a 1975 paid £400 drove it for a couple of years swapped it for a XJ6 4.2 in Westminster blue great car just refused to go by a petrol station ⛽️
