    Great for what you're getting? It's a shell to input midi! The fact there is clicking and comes across cheap is very bad. It's not a cheap price for such an item - a keystation. So that tapping sound should not be happening. If the keys feel very light, though advertised as semi-weighted, it defeats the object completely. The fact that the keys are shorter than that of a piano is another fail. All-in-all, that you have described, is an absolute peace of garbage for anyone above the level of beginners. The fact that it is light can also be another negative... it would be slippery, easily knocked over off the stand.. £180? I wouldn't pay £80!

    Tom - Can I use a small guitar practice amp with my i3 do you know?

    • @Dziricani
      @Dziricani 5 дней назад

      Of course. A small guitar amp can be used with the Korg i3 or any keyboard/synthesizer. But it may not deliver the best sound quality since guitar amps are designed primarily for electric guitar signals, which have a different frequency range and tonal characteristics than the output from a keyboard like the Korg i3. If you're just looking for something to get sound out of it, it will work. However, for better clarity and a more accurate representation of the keyboard sounds, using a keyboard amp is recommended.

    It is true that the piano sound is a rather nice one. However, I have quite a set of reservation on this PP-3 (I know as I owned it and compared to other brands). 1. The oversimplistic operation with only 1 shift button and 4 select buttons is really a big downside 2. All operations like reverb, enhanced operation etc. only by app. And only 4 set ups can be saved then linked to buttons 1 to 4 via SHIFT first. 3. If you play grand piano on #1 and want to for instance switch to a save layer (piano + strings) you have to press SHIFT and then your saved key it being & to 4. By doing so you will absolutely interrupt the current tone (e.g. holding by sustain pedal >> switching SHIFT + Save Buttong 1 thru 4, and boom your sound has a full interruption. 4. Seamless switching only with a group. (E.g. Buttons 1 to 4) or SHIFT plus Buttons 1 to 4) 5. Same for using the app. Makes no difference. If the app is still available in the future, no one knows. So, you will really have the added expense of a tablet (and I really recommend an iPad for this). A smartphone's screen is too small for good operation. Bluetooth Only! There is no way to connect via USB and control instead of BT which would also get rid of the horrible latency, when for instance using another software based module like Numa Player. Also app gets sluggish when going to the more advanced pages / tabs. 6. The piano sound is really nice and polyphony of 256 voices is certainkly welcome. Also the standard accessory pedal works quite well. Keybed is also quite nice (of course is not a Roland PH4 action (quite lighter) but works well. 7. No Audio over BT Midi! ONyl standard MIDI over USB and that's it. 8. THE MORE SERIOUS PROBLEM one really has to consider is this : - The speakers are bad. I mean really bad. Flat sounding. No weight or heft and they do not do justice to the fine piano sound. - Ok then, why not using the Line Out or Headphone? Go ahead and be surprised that the headphone out level is quite low and might cause a very low volume depending on the impenace of your headphone. - LINE OUT (which is as should be a fixed level type) is absolutely too low and missing at least 3 to 6dB of norm level. - Alternatively using the headphone socket as line out is also possible tinking a bit more oompf there. Unforutnately not so much of a difference. It amkes things even a bit more worse as it jacks up something the amp stage is plagued with. The cause here is quite some excessive noise (hiss). The amp is quite dirty and does not have a good S/N ratio which is rare nowadays. I had to bump up my studio interface to max. and also the gain of my studio monitors quite high. Also there is quite some artefacts from the power adaptor which is a very cheap affair with a lot of interference induced into the PP-3's amp stage. The pwr adaptor is also missing any ferrite core to dampen those bad signals from the switch type power adaptor. I used a different one (of lab quality which got rid of all the electronic noise and worked fine). Then I could better hear the good piano sounds. However, the low LINE OUT & HEADPHONE level problem remains. And NO. This instrument is NOT made in Germany. It is "Engineered in Germany" which is a marketing speach thing making you believe it is a german product. As it also says on the box, guess what? Made in China. That is not a bad thing per se. Besides I have it on very good technical information that e.g it shares the basic chassis of another manufacturer and I can say it is true, as I had them both (no other names here). I think the main pcb might be different (e.G. DREAM chip as sound generator, more generous sample for the Grand Piano, Piano Technician mode over BT, supposedly different keybed though I felt no difference at all - Only surface texture being different but action identical almost). However, GEWA has taken simplicity of this ePiano to a level which I cannot comprehend and will proof to be a problem in years to come once the app perhaps vanishes. Even big boys like Yamaha sometimes ditch apps as no longer supported. GEWA is certainly not in the same league as Yamaha to be very clear. // A few more onboard controls or at least 4 more save buttons, a better output stage and better pwr adaptor coupled with a bit better speaker system (the whole chassis is vibrating at higher volumes and lower notes without giving good bass) and that's the combo to go for // Locks like GEWA wanted to enter the stage piano market with a quick shot from a multi vendor OEM producer and some retailers list it under stage piano. I cannot ever imagine that a sessioned musician would take that onto a stage and the sound engineer would go crazy about the noise. Portable home ePiano, yes. Besides, GEWA support seemingly does not like to answer support questions. So should I ever go on a lockout for a higher class ePiano (even though they do have a good reputation here) besides my workstations and synthesizers, GEWA will not be on my shopping list for sure.

    Hi, I’m a lounge pianist from a small island nowadays quite famous called Funchal… Because of that, being a island access new material and new keyboard is still very difficult… Returning to reason of this message, being a professional musician I once in a while a need to attend bigger party with two singers, for that I use my own arrangements, for many reasons, budget and all, I make them in Midi files, I normally use my own old vintage keyboard Korg IS40, it’s sound very good but it’s very heavy and difficult to transport, and also I not getting any younger… For a while I looked up for portable midi players - Okyweb 4 and others but there are very expensive… Korg weight makes it very portable… The question is, does it play’s Midi files while I play along piano?… and does its sound any good, off course I know it’s GM2 sounds, but Korg IS40 has one of the best quality GM Sound in the market… Concerning access… Is it easy to access the files on the keyboard?… Does it loads fast from the USB pen drive our it’s better to save it first on the Korg I3 memory bank to make it reasonable fast to the file start playing?… If possible I could send you one our two of my own arrangements for You to try it and check up the sound?… Best regards from Funchal…

    Moog One. I tried one. It's the equivalent of an analog version of the orchestra. It creates a wall of sound. Amazing sound. I had an opportunity to purchase a like new One for $7,500 but I opted out. Even for that price you can buy a lot of synths, maybe 3 synths for more variety. Certainly a big purchase at 10k current US price. And now Moog sold. I wonder how the sale will effect the quality of built and support?

    It sounds good. Dunno why we hear so little about this piano where I live. Are we hearing it through direct line out? It would be nice to know more about the amplification in this piano. Well it's two years later and I hope this model has been a success. Ah, I see that Thomann currently supplies the 385 and the 405, but not this model. The 405 costs slightly more than the Casio GP-310, which is probably the nearest thing to a digital hybrid under €3000.
