From The Inside: Clay Terrace Apartments

Clay Terrace Apartments is a public housing development located in Ward 7 of Washington, D.C. The neighborhood sits East of the Anacostia River, and much like other areas near it, it is burdened with poverty, violence, and resource deprivation. Yet, against the stress of socioeconomic oppression, Clay Terrace cultivates community, love, and prosperity. There is a light within the community-a li...

Howard University Accepted Students Day 2015: The Movie
Просмотров 16 тыс.9 лет назад
Upon receiving acceptance to Howard University, I-along with thousands of other prospective students-was given the opportunity to get a first-hand glimpse of what it's like to attend one of the most prestigious HBCUs in America. Over the course of three eventful days, I experienced moments that embody the very essence of what (H)istorically (B)lack (C)olleges and (U)niversities stand for: love,...
My mother from there she left in the eighties and had me raised me in kentland
My mother Lisa and my brother Greg lived here from 1950 to 1987. I am Steven Phillip Duncan. we lived it up for years we had everything but a car. We lived in 5226 Banks Place N. E. Washington D.C. 20024. We didn't need a car. My other brothers and sisters lived there too and my nephew Antwan. We all went to Richardson Elementary. I was one of the best fighters in my home. Billy was next. we both learned Karate. He was a Marine for 2 years. I knew about 75 people in this area. I was 14 in 1987. We moved to SW then because my mom thought they were renovating. She was wrong. but it was a blessing kinda. I dont know any of these people though. Many residents that were here probably moved out: but not necesarily. Times were weird in the 70's.
I will always love D.C, i move from Lincoln Heights 2 Atlanta but everytime i come home 2 visit my first stop is Lincoln Heights Northeast 💯
It's the Government neighborhood cause when you pass away. That neighborhood doesn't come with you it. It's just a neighborhood where you move to or raised at that's it nothing else.
That's everywhere you go. Can't take your mansion with you either 🤷🏾♂️
Ain’t that Mike BJ’s hood?
Grant Park, District of Columbia. It gained quite a notoriety for the fatal death of 10 year old Makiyah Wilson, as she was caught between a gun battle between two rival crews (16/7/2018). The opposing crew was from Wellington Park in the Barry Farm neighborhood.

I love my city. I love old DC, I miss it, I feel like the city is losing its culture. It's no longer chocolate city, all the gentrification is ruining the city. That's my opinion!! I am white guy was born In the city moved out PG in the 80s have been here all my life. City sure has changed. I miss the old city, and what I mean is DC in the 80s 90s and early 2000s had it's on flavor and with all this gentrification its losing its identity.
Old DC 50, 6O and 70’ was different than 80, 90 and. Early 2000’s. 💁♂️
How did the black people there let that happen?

Omg, MIKE! We used to chase his truck. Lmao.
Why where you running behind a truck when you could just go to the store
Elijah he was the ice cream truck man, a pleasant summer memory from the 80s and 90s. We didn’t have to chase him. It was just that we’d run up the street to his truck that he’d park on the corner for us. Are you even from around there?
i love my city 💯✌
