I’d like to hear the explanation on the HR early in the game. The plate umpire watched runner #1 cross the plate and clearly miss the plate. His initial ruling was correct of out. The opposing coach argued the batter jumped on the plate but he wasn’t the one called out. There is nothing in regards to that touch at home that the base umpires can help with to change that call. Now the one reasonable explanation I can see here is that this was not a proper appeal by Little League rules. In which case, the plate umpire screwed up. In this case, the plate umpire should have told the red team coach that he would rule once a proper appeal was made. Up to the coach to know how to do that. Once the umpire puts the ball back in play the pitcher steps off, throws to the catcher who then touches the plate and appeals “Blue, the first runner missed the plate”, then the plate umpire can rule. Since this was not a proper appeal, I can see the change back to run scores and the red team has now lost the chance to appeal the play. That first team. Poor sportsmanship. Catcher throwing his glove. 2nd baseman throwing his glove then kicking it. I get the disappointment of a big loss. But neither of the other 2 teams behaved that way.

Now that is the hidden ball trick. After he gets the ball at second he fakes the throw to the pitcher to get the runner to step off the base. Well done.

11:55 of the video. Not the first one but an easy one to catch. Balk that turns into a double play. The one I saw earlier was close enough to let slide at this age. But the one here was not only a balk but a quick pitch. Got to call that. Can be tough working a 1 man system. Fully understand that. That is why the first one is a slider. But this one shouldn't have been a problem. Normally you hear a ton of coaches and parents yelling balk. I guess no one else noticed it either. LOL!! He balks 3 straight pitches after the hit batter at 20:37 as well.

HAHA!! That's not even the hidden ball trick. That was just a coach and runner not paying attention. The catcher merely noticed neither was watching and threw the ball to F3. Heads up play.
