Ibalways thought that cover art was so dumb. the poses are from two completely different parts of the movie.

Sometime in the '90s bought this CD from the $1 bin in a Chicago music store knowing nothing about Kamen or Sandborn. It became one of my all time favorites that I've been playing now for decades. I wish these two musicians could have known how much enjoyment this has given me.

Sad to hear of the passing of David Sanborn. He's with Michael creating beautiful music in the afterlife now.

He kept the broad harmonic structure of the theme largely intact, wrote a new melody, and then tweaked the interior harmonies. The intermediary sections are there almost unchanged, but the ending is far more bombastic. Fascinating....

Jerry Goldsmith's music is an absolute marvel. Soaring is right, sweeping and extraordinarily epic and majestically awe inspiring.

You can hear the theme in there buried, fighting to get out. Play this back to back with the version that is in the final film and you'll hear it.

Some Star Trek fans say the enterprise should be cut down by a minute or two I say no you have just been revealed the greatest character in the movie and we haven't seen the enterprise since the last episode of the old series
