Jess was the best match for rory cause he challenged her and didnt treat her like the stars hollow darling everyone insisted she was BUT he also had a lot of healing and growing to do. His family life was really turbulent. His parents were both immature and flighty so it makes sense that he ran away and abandoned rory as a teen. Unfortunately, that triggered Rory's abandonment trauma from her dad so i feel like that's why although she clearly still likes him, she'll never go back to him. Older Jess has grown up a lot and hopefully he can show rory that he's changed and won't run from her like he did back then

At first I loved them together. I still love him, but Rory bugs me. She egged his car because she couldn't face her feelings for him...not cool. He still came through for her in the sprinkler scene. When it came down to it neither of them were ready to deal with such intense feelings. He would have to learn to communicate, and she would have to learn to trust him more.
