Yea. F**kin bs for me. I’m only 22 and have had multiple seizures in my life from this bs. I’ve had 2 miscarriages bc of being diabetic. Yea, I’m genuinely over it. I’m done. Anyone who isn’t a type 1 can’t understand that this is a full time job on top of our f**kin full time job and/or college. I’m f**king over it.

I have absolutely no idea how these parents were able to tell that story. Such strong, brave, amazing people. I am despondent listening to it. It’s pretty obvious that Kycie was far, far stronger than I am, and she inherited her strength from her family.

Mis diagnosis happens. I was a prescription to get medication because he diagnosed her at 13 with anorexia. ; just because she lost a lot of weight. . I followed my heart and took her to the children’s ER. The nurse started working on her right away because of the way my daughter was looking. When they tested her sugar level, OMG there was no number because the sugar level was sooo high. Even the ketones was high. I was told Thai she could have gone in coma. She had to be in the I hospital for 3 days .learning to take care of her; how to give the insulin , measuring the right portion of foods etc. we’re things we had to learn quickly. Thank God she doing well. I pray for the strength in Kycee’sparents to go on living, remembering her in a special way.

My cousin was misdiagnosed. He was originally diagnosed as type two, because he was a bigger guy. Then over time he started to get sick. He goes to the emergency room and finds out that he was type one all along. His original endocrinologist was mistreating him and that’s why he got so sick. He wasn’t getting enough insulin. He went to the endocrinologist to get his files because he was never going back there again. He basically told the doctor off saying that he could’ve died because he wasn’t getting enough insulin. His new doctor has been treating him correctly for the last six months now and he’s doing better than ever.

I have type 1 diabetes. So many people get confused and some of my family still tells me to “not eat too much sugar.” I used to be a level 7 gymnast and won over 16 trophies and 55 plus medals. I even competed at worlds for cheerleading. People still mislabel me and one doctor even got confused between type 1 and type 2. It’s sad that people don’t know what this disease actually is.

Strictly speaking, it isn’t even a medication. The body usually makes its own insulin, which is an endocrine hormone, but people with T1 need to inject it manually because their pancreas can’t produce it.

I could be completely wrong, this is just an inference based on what was said. That doctor needs to be held accountable. For just looking at her and saying well her brother had strep maybe she does too and not looking at her symptoms more closely. Her symptoms screamed diabetes. Her brothers symptoms were that of strep throat.

My dad’s brother died of type 1 when he was 4 years old. Insulin was just becoming available and the treatment prior to insulin was a bread and water diet! This was in the 1920’s. My sister was dx’ed at age 11 blood sugars were in the 600’s which could have been much worse but…due to having several people with type 1 in the family awareness of symptoms caught it early on.

Been diagnosed for three years as an diabetic type 2....not overweight and all the signals of type 1..rapid weight loss, super high blood sugars 32 mmol/l and a hba1c of 104 mmol/l I asked the doctor to check my insuline levels and antibodies, but no she said we ain't going to do that your a type 2. I went straight away on an ketogenic diet and could stretch my health for more than three years....now for a week of two I'm diagnosed for type 1 after I had crashed the second of February this year...lost 12 kilogram in 1 á 2 weeks and been struggling until the end of April...the hospital doctor told me that if I were 1 á 2 weeks later they had to get me to the ER and if I was any later I didn't survive! Now I finally got insuline because my pancreas doesn't make any insuline anymore! I say....thanks f uck ers....thanks for destroying me overall! The insuline is working and I'm getting my weight, body mass, muscle and strength back...I'm progressing well in my exercises and halfway of what I did before the crash.
