I was born in Dewsbury in 1946 and after living in Mirfield for a few years, lived in Heckmondwike from 1959 until 1970. From 1966 until 1970 I was a conductor and driver at the Beck Lane garage of what was at the time the Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Company, but now Arriva Yorkshire. I ended my bus driving days with, by coincidence, Arriva London North.

True story. The little orange "free town bus" is the actual one driven by Sandra Bullock in the film Speed.
