Getting back into the hobby, I thought I might share some of the building, painting and research.
Spacemarines Lieutenants
When you forget, that you already have the model, you have to paint 2 of them! Simple painting with simple tools, just to get some model onto the table and start playing.

I look into some of the 1/72 scale miniatures I could get my hands on and compare them. The goal is to compose an army for table top wargames and get the troops ready for a game.

Why searching for Airfix? I would prefer at least the boxes by Revell.
Excellent finished model kit! I think you could really top it off with some rigging as shown in the instruction manual. Easy thumbs up.
Good luck with the Airfix ACW. Airfix hasn't made them for 50 years 25mm is not a scale it's a height. 1/72nd means that a 1" figure x 72 =6' in real height. Now the height of the average European is 5' 10" not 6' but lets not quibble. Therefore a 25mm figure = 1" which is 1/72nd scale
it look nice how long dose it took u to build
This one took me about six weeks, but I did not count the hours. Still, it feels like I rushed it a little, it could be better in quality.
Some beautiful figures and buildings here!
Did you get the units finished sir? Would love to see part 2
Uhm....that puts me in a bit of a pickle....you see, my attention span is usually shorter than the project requires. I did film it, started the editing..where did I put those files? Give me a minute..! Turn sideways : "ALFRED! WHERE ARE THE VIDEO FILES?" I will see what I can come up with, just give a me a sec.
There will always be some questionable figure poses in a box of plastic figures. The trick is to find uses for them. Clubbing men can be extra standard bearers, engineers with axes or even casualties. I alway keep these extraneous figures, even just for spare heads etc.
Fun fact, the U.S.S. O'Bannon DD 450, made a cameo appearance in the film "In Harms Way" directed by Otto Preminger, and starring John Wayne and Kirk Douglas.
was wondering if that italeria battlset was worth it . cool beans
problem with these types of figures, they are very durable but as soon as you put paint on any bendy parts will crack and flake off. Ive tried a number of ways to stop it like gloss varnish etc in end they are useful in a diorama not wargaming

Have had this box set (+ extra boxes of figures) on my shelf for years, waiting for the right "why not" moment,.... interesting review, would like to see the buildings but maybe that is my cue....
Great job, she's look good. Thanks for sharing.
Toying with doing absolute emperor in 1:72, because 1. why not, and 2. so much better value for figures.
It was true, the Japanese thought they were throwing hand grenades.
Really nice project !
You had my interest at "because, why not?", lol. I also enjoy the sorting and formation of units from boxes and boxes and boxes...
This is a very old kit, i don't know if you are aware of that
Hi. Yes, there are copyright stamps on the sprues, from 1979! The newer parts are from 2013 though.
thanks for not playing music! Subbed.
