Thank you for this tribute. He was one of the fondest memories of my youth, as "Mind Your Language" was on TV in my country in 1980-81...I recently found out the circumstances of his untimely death and I was so, so incredibly sad. It was years after the eighties I managed to watch "Doctor in the house" and "Doctor at large", and still back then hadn;t heard that he had passed and in such a way. Beloved, soft spoken, incredibly viacious and endearing expressions. Pity that the very appearance that gave him the first shots in the beginning, became the obstacle that prevented the parts he deserved to come to him. Such a waste. Rest in eternal peace, beutiful man.

Barry Evans was one of a kind. i grew up watching MYL and always warmed up to him. There was something so simple, clean, generous and good natured about him. I'm really sorry about the way he passed on. RIP Mr Brown. There will be no other like you.

He still saddens me the way it all ended for him, and a cover up by the British police. We are not being told the entire story. Great actor, great man, sadly missed. I so nor know what it is, but he was one of us, like none other.

I m watching this show on 2023 and almost finished 2nd season, but after going through the episodes, I wanted to know about actors but most all of them passed away and Barry leave this world too early 😢😢.... Every one of them are soo good with everything ❤❤.... Wherever you legends are but we missed you🥰🥰

I met Barry Evans when I was young, he was a big tv star in those days. But he was actually a very shy person in real life, he wasn't comfortable with fame. I was there that day when the blue plaque was put on the wall, it was a day celebrating Barry Evans, and I'm glad to read the kind words here that he is not forgotten. It warms my heart that people all over the world still think of him with such great affection. He touched our lives in ways he cannot know, and the greatest tragedy is his death has gone unpunished. If anyone who wants to visit and pay respects, the location is Buckland Crescent, Swiss Cottage. Though this is not where he died, Barry had moved away from London some years previously. Rest in peace Barry, I never forgot you...
