@@joegilbert7661 this optic was around $620 after tax......this version is non night vision compatible.....eotech also has the 500 series which is their "old school" style that takes AA batteries......for the money if the reticle looks good to your eye I say it's worth it cause of the advantages holographic sights offer

Honestly credit has to go to the dude that does vortex RUclips videos (can't remember his name)......he mentioned it and it stuck with me and it makes since.....regardless the magnification you use with a 2nd focal plane optic the dot/cross hair ect you zeroed with stays true regardless of the magnification.....ONLY the ranging and windholds need to be used at maximum magnification.....I may retest it at the range this week and do a "fresh video" about this topic

@@brillranch399 I been researching just now about the seller on Amazon that I WAS going to get that eotech from.....the seller is WOOT and once I googled "woot eotech review" I'm seeing people saying they selling fake eotechs....used eotechs....demo eotechs so I think the holosun aems is the right choice for now

Even over the eotech......I finally got the first time today was able to see how that eotech reticle looks and it looks good to my eye vs the green holosun......the battery life of the eotech is my main concern 600-1000 hours

​@@chris2Agearreviews You hit the nail on the head....I just like the battery life option.....and shake awake. I have astigmatism as well so it just came down to personal preference for me and of course the use case! Is this for a SHTF setup or some other use?

@@buckeyeguy9885 100% shtf setup ....it's going on my 16 inch chrome lined.....I'm tired of LPVO's and prism scopes having to be so close to my eye for proper use.....the holosun green circle dot reticle looks really good to my eye as I showed in the video using my holosun EPS as reference.....

@@chris2Agearreviews So in that case I went with battery life for 2 different but similar reasons.....battery life. Check this out....if you bug out OR bug in your SHTF system is only as good as it's sustainable nature, meaning shit only works if it hild up long term. No matter which one of those scenarios plays out or he'll if they both play out I don't want to have to burn through batteries if I don't have to, even if I have a supply of them....for me an ouch of prevention is worth a pound of cure.....1000 to 1200 hours versus 9000 to 12000 hours.....one you better hope you remember to turn on if something happens while the other will be on before your eye reachs the reticle....those where just some of my reasons.

@@buckeyeguy9885 excellent points made....also the field of view between the arms and holosun is very similar....sportsman warehouse had both in the display and I couldn't eyeball any noticeable difference in glass size and that aems would be much lighter than the eotech also..

@@Elcognito-o8n Something like the Tipton ultimate gun vise or the real avid gun vise.....both of those "systems" elevate the upper/rifle so leveling and doing other tasks are more easy and efficient......Now I am able to make the Tipton best gun vise accomplish the task of scope leveling and mounting so I was kinda hard on this vise....it's a decent option but there's better choice available for $50-$100 more if your willing to spend it

Your right......I got a Amazon ifak pouch which works well enough....I'm going to look and see if there's something else that's a better fit

@@sullygtx9350 yeah you definitely wouldn't have liked how small the reticle is in the venom.....the strike eagle 1-8 would be a excellent option......big easy to see and pick up reticle......extremely durable cause I've been "passing around" the strike eagle I have for 4 years and it still performs like I got it on day 1

@@Invisibleman1776 unfortunately the same thing would apply for the strike eagle......Ive seen videos where reviews say the reticle is smaller even in the 1-6 strike eagle vs 1-8

@@RK_Motorsports 💯......I want to test the 1.93 height scope mounts so I got a cheap monstrum about 10 minutes ago off Amazon just to test if the 1.93 height is right for me

@@FelineInTheTreeline because loading the 30th round will make it difficult to load magazine on a closed bolt.....also loading 29 puts less strain on the feed lips of the magazine

@@chris2Agearreviews i think you should do what you feel like is the right choice. Howver i will say that magpul themselves have said to load 30 rounds and that you just have to smack it in. Not only that but its fine to leave them loaded at 30 rounds for years.

@@BrickByBrickVets Thank you....I'm taking this mount with the fairly new VORTEX Venom 1-6 in it to the range today.....testing if it can withstand recoil and hold zero

I agree the dust covers really aren't needed......since the magazines are being stored in a controlled environment and not in the elements I could go without the dust covers.....it's just a habit I have to put them on since I have them
