Trekking Poles Don't Float
My right trekking pole couldn't resist the call of the wild, and took the plunge into a deceptively deep creek, never to be seen again.

Pacific Crest Trail 2016 Feelin' Good
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.7 лет назад
The Pacific Crest Trail takes you through some difficult terrain in Washington. Sometimes the only thing that keeps you going is the extraordinary views, which magically wash away your struggles once you've reached the summits. Bacon's for you Dad! xo #familytraditions Buy the song here: po.st/FeelingGoodiTunes
That Time I Walked In The Clouds 2016

That one time the Pacific Crest Trail showed me the path (pun intended) to walk in the clouds. It was magical, and slightly damp; the valley below was hidden, but the mountain peaks have never been so clear.

Hate to break it to y'all.... It's not always super fun times on the PCT. *Side Note: Your worst day on the PCT is still better than your best day at work.*

Super fun time video of my time on the PCT.
You go girl....thanks for the laughs.
Michelle Richmond Laughter is the best medicine! Thanks for watching!
I have that same tent 👍
Wicked! I love mine.. so many different set up options, on the light in comparison to how sturdy it is. Plus, it's quick and easy to set up. Which is all I can ask for at the end of a long hard day of hiking! What do you think of yours?
Six days is my longest solo. Day 1 rocks by day 3 it's hard to imagine how bad you smell.my smell is what I think kept the Bigfoots away.you rock
i had to look up the F-Bomb Word :), and agree on the switch backs they s......
omg you are great!!! there is no fluff here!
ccc0424 thanks for your kind words!
Whiny bitch ass liberals shouldn't hike..
Awesome video,,the trails sometime win. At least you didn't get eaten from mountain lion attack, where you pull out your pistol only to remember the bullets are in the trunk...lol..great trails, great memories. Stay safe and God Bless...
The trail only wins if you don't go back to finish it :)
Thanks for verbalizing and documenting what happens to us all on long solo hikes!
IntoTheWildOregon Thanks for taking the time to comment! It's refreshing to hear positive feedback regarding something that can be perceived as negative. Isn't it funny, looking back at videos where you were clearly not having a fantastic time, but now that we are home it seems so silly to be that upset over things that aren't a big deal? Haha... Backpacking solo for weeks on end sure does a number on the human psyche, eh?!
Fastest Tent take down eva !!
Kanzee haha! There's times I wish I could move that fast in real life!
3:32 LOL...FBOMB CENTRAL ..LOL 😤😤
Kanzee 😂 It's funny to look back on how frustrated I got over some things.
I am guessing that you are Canadian. Sorry to find your pain so funny but I am laughing with you not at you. I slept one night under a tent that I was too tired to put up.
I am Canadian! What was the giveaway? Haha. It's all good, laugh away. I laugh at myself all the time :) The trail defiantly teaches us to lighten up, eh? Ah, yes... the psuedo bivy sack. Hilarious!
It brings up all the emotions. I guess if you hiked with a 1-2-3 people, even part of the trail It would have been more pleasent. My heart goes out to you. Well done Top gun
Despite this video depicting I was miserable the whole time, that isn't the case. This was purely to reflect that hiking isn't always the"Sunshine and Rainbows" a lot of videos make it out to be. I have another video showing the good times, just to try to keep thing balanced.
Well... thanks a lot! I would saved a ton of dough having watched this BEFORE I dove into backpacking! LOL! I feel your pain but you know what? I would rather go through that anytime rather than working 40 hours a week at my job! 😀 Thanks for sharing this!
RESTLESS OUTDOORS hahaha amen bruthah'!!! You know it... The crappiest day outside is always far more enjoyable than a good day at work. 😊
Just another brilliant video Zim. Weird that I watched this on thevTV youtube but on the iPad, it states video not available.
Thanks! I believe the "Unavailable" message is displayed on some devices due to copyright restrictions, but not entirely sure. I'm currently working to resolve the issue :)
zimmdoodle thru hiking the AT in 2018 with of bunch of cool awesome people I'd you want to join us. I made a FB group page called 2018 Appalachian Trail Announcement page so come on over and check it out. Also I made a new 1 minute video trailor on my you tube that you have to check and share if you like it. Again awesome video on the RUclips on my TV.
very nice 👍👍👍👍
Anthony Yeager Thanks 😎👍🏻
I'm so excited for my PCT adventure this year! And videos like this build the anticipation that much more! Who is doing the music?
Rodney Glad to help build on your anticipation!!! This time last year I was in your shoes 😊 The song is called "Untitled", by Seryn. I'm having difficulties in getting a link to add to my video, thanks for the reminder. Enjoy all aspects of your journey; the good, the bad, the ugly, and the glorious. Safe trekking.
Can you do a pct packing video, I would love to see what you took with you!!!! You are my inspiration!!!!
Simplylivylou XoXo Thank you for your message 😊 A gear review/ packing video is in the works. Stay tuned.
I would love if you could post a video on your gear. My husband and I are shooting for 2018 and I'm very curious to see what people are liking and what they aren't. I'm especially curious about your GPS device I keep seeing on your shoulder there.
Courtney Brown Thanks for your comment! I've got a gear review video in the works. Stay tuned 😊 But, since you specifically asked about the gadget on my shoulder.... it's the Delorme inReach Explorer. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a GPS/ PLB/ SOS device. And, although I was heavily against the messaging feature at first, I was pleased with it purely for the fact my concerned family felt comfort when I messaged them each night informing them I was safe. Programming is slightly tedious, the device and plans are more expensive than other devices, BUT... it is connected to a much more reliable satellite network than its competitors, and the website friends and family track you on is user friendly. I highly recommend this product :)
Thank you for your reply! I definitely think we will check it out for ourselves and we will stay tuned for your gear reviews.
youre fast taking that tent down love your vids there real
very cool well done you highs & lows merry xmas ftom Liverpool england take care out there
Great tune!
You're Canadian, terrific.....
Gary Bowen You know it! Born and raised Canadian.
awlright!! hoping/waiting that you upload some more.....
Nice! Which area is featured in your video?
Alison Nickson this is right around mile marker 2390 Snoqualmie Pass, Washington.
Wow so dreamy but incredible video and song choice. Sharing this on my FB.
Adrian Redgwell it indeed was dreamy! I'm tempted to push it as far as magical. 😊Thanks for the share!
zimmdoodle Starting my Triple Crown plus 2 in 2018 with the Appalachian trail. Would be great to find the perfect hiking partners/groups before hand that fit my style. Anyway come check out hiking channel but the ones starting with the IAT fir anew Brunswick and after are pretty good. The earlier ones were my first time recording. Chat to you later and please let me know your thoughts on my 2 styles of hiking videos. Happy Trails 2017 eh.
zimmdoodle I have shared this now with over 4000 hikers in New Brunswick. You should start seeing more views soon. I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan but joined the military at 18 so never went back to live there cept for vacations.
If you're planning a Triple Crown attempt in a single year, you're best to go at it alone. Most hikers can't handle the mileage that it will take.
Wow you are the perfect dream solo partner. At least you had the guts to go out and hike eh !!! I will most likely be solo on the AT as most people I meet are a waste of time.... but for some reason, hiker people are pretty nice people so maybe I will find an awesome hiking couple to hang with or best yet, a crazy incredible funny girl. She could help me with hitch hiking and I can do everything else for her on the trail. Just have to find that special crazy honest girl lol. See you in 2018 for the AT? Lol.
Thanks for your honesty and admire your positivity and perseverance.
Solo hiking isn't easy. Respect!
I guess I saw this a couple months later than I should have, if I was keeping up. All I can offer, as a complete stranger to you, is that you should look back on this later on, when you're in the right state of mind, and reflect upon the bigger picture of your life. Realize just how strong you were to press through this sometimes very unpleasant journey. It's a reflection of your true character. You're one who endures; who perseveres. You're worthy of respect. Always know this about yourself as you continue on life's journey: you're stronger than the vast majority. Good on you! Your success is certain and you've proven it already. You're real, and willing to be so publicly. That takes guts. I was inspired. Thanks so much!!
Burt Wonderstone very touching words! Thank you so much!
very cool, liked your video of the lows on the trail as well...be proud, you did something the vast majority of people will never attempt.
Kind words....Thanks Chuck!
awww...and I was just gettin into that tune, ha!
Thanks for the kind words thewanderinggypsy! Glad I could help to show you some of the unglamorous realities that aren't spoken about as openly as the glamorous moments. Power through the tough times, keep your chin up... it's worth it in the end :)
not many people actually do videos like this or even talk about this side of the PCT, so thank you for it. kind of gives me a reality check and really helps me realize what I might go thru. I love how you ended the video though! "doesn't matter because I'll be back next year.. to do it again." pretty much sums up the backpackers creed if there is one. hahah! :)
