I’d be a little hesitant to hire a company to fix my garage door when they can’t even replace the batteries in their smoke alarm.

This is a horrible video. The sound was up and down, and anybody can read the instructions.

ridiculous. i watched this video, then watched a few more and there was a very simple fix that did not include replacing the springs. i think this video is misleading and that’s putting it nicely.

You will find real videos explaining that if you help your garage door opener along manually you can open the door easily. I did this with a steel two car garage door and it was easy don't bother watching this useless sales pitch

One thing to mention here is if you experienced a power failure, your garage door opener (GDO) could have lost its top and bottom travel settings. The process to reset your GDO top/bottom setting will be different but there are plenty of videos on this online. You can test this if this is the case if you have buttons on the GDO unit itself (not the remote or wired controller) and you can get it to travel all the way up or down. You can also test for a bad spring by seeing if you can lift the garage door after you have decoupled the GDO from the door If you feel like nothing is obstructing your GDO and it is otherwise in good working order, it may be the settings were lost.

Terrible information, they just want your money, my garage has the same issue but I can open it manually, spring works perfectly fine. I have to look elsewhere. What springs are they using different from others???

Easy to follow video… just can’t get it to show up in the myQ app. Connects to wifi but that’s it.

Anybody know how much a spring replacement costs?

Mine did this and took me awhile to figure it out. I unplugged the power for 30 seconds and plugged it back and it works now.

BEST thing to do is call Chamberlain Group at 800-528-9131 and get a new password reset sent to your email. I have ATT 5G-EXT. They will take you through the NECESSARY steps in 10 minutes. Have your network password on hand. If it doesn't work on your 5G-EXT, then try switching your cell phone network to your 2G-EXT. Great luck to you.

I having issues with the craftsman, is was working fine, since craftsman switch to myQ it doesn’t works anymore… over a year now…

I just replaced two springs for my townhome two car garage. The package also came with center bearing, two torsion winding sticks and two steel cables, with free shipping $140 total. I changed it myself. The company also has a diy video on youtube. I think that maybe this guy is quoting with labor. My springs are the size of the smallest springs in this video. 25.5 inches in length. My originals lasted 17 years.

Before you go calling these guys, I too had this problem with my garage door. Consider the sequence of events before acting. For me, the power had just went off at my house right before this problem occurred. I read online (as silly as it sounded) “unplug and re-plug the power to the garage door opener”. So I did and it started working fine again.

I installed a hand crank winch, the rope lined up with the garage pulling chain and hocked to the garage doors pulling handle. If you do, make sure to unplug the power.

What if I can’t get to the emergency handle?

I got to the WiFi network part and it has the series of beeps but then runs into a problem and doesn’t give me the option to name the device. The lift master has a solid green light but it will not successfully connect.

I have an attic ladder by halfway when the garage door opens. Is it possible to adjust the setting so the garage door stops opening when the attic ladder is down/open?

If my spring is 218 2” 25.5” is it better to get a 50” long and it will last twice as long? Does it affect how the spring operates if you get a longer spring
