Thank you for Sharing , I have Questions , I have Toyota camer 2020 , fan doesn’t working , why the problem and where is coolant temperature sensor and Engine coolant temperature sensor the place ? practical Thank you 🙏 so much for understanding
Some manufacturers like Hyundai/Mitsubishi have solenoids that will return without a pressure load.
Having some transmission issues on a 2005 lexus es330. I changed the valve body but now not engaging in any gear. And I can't get it to go back into reverse
why it was replaced, if it was not doing this probably the valve b is defective or a solenoid or wiring issues or tranny internal failure
I have a 2006 Toyota rav4 4 cylinder Awd , I have a code p0741 but the vehicle drives fine and no changes in transmission shifting gears , please guide what’s the first step to do , if tcc solenoid is needed , which one will it be . Thanks
Toyota has a tsb saying you get an updated speedometer gear on trans, then changed trans fluid and then the tcc solnoid. I just drained and filled trans fluid and light went away after i cleared cel codes about 300 miles ago. I bought speedo gear and have yet to install it.
torque converter clutch solenoid performance (shift solenoid valve DSL) testing and inspection: visually inspect it first, measure resistance by applying 12v + to the pin on the solenoid and ground -on the brocket of the solenoid, standard resistance: 11 to 13 ohms at 68 degrees f, valve moves and makes an operation noise, NG replace the shift solenoid valve DSL, OK, look for wiring issues, dirty transmission fluid, bad valve body, hint if valve body is bad you will have serious drivability issues, bad PCM, solenoid DSL is the only one with a green wire.

Where did you buy the fluid from?
at the Dealer, thanks for sharing.
Why didnt you test the new solenoid when it was installed? Yes the other ones click. But you never tried the one you replaced. Ive noticed my tcc solenoid will click once. If i hold it with oring facing up. It will click multiple times. But only once if i hold it sideways. Im wondering if this one is diff than the other. The others work fine no matter if they are installed or not. They click everytime.
normally this happens when solenoids are dirty inside or they only work about 50% of there entire capacity since they are old but still fine for the PCM, but they should not click every time you apply 12v when they are not in the valve body, since they are not being pressure loaded, now if the first click is load n the second is low then that is normal but doing this damages the solenoids since they only are meant to receive volt or signal only when the pcm commends them to actuate.
Great job.... Sir ❤
Thanks! I appreciate it.
How long did you wait after running the engine to check for leaks etc? The “ normal “ position of the needle on the engine temperature gauge in the dash after the engine has reached operating temperature is halfway between the C ( cold) and the H ( hot ) or the orange part at the Hot end of the gauge. Yours looked a little lower than than unless the engine had only been running for a few minutes. Toyota as far as I’m aware has not issued a recall or a bulletin on replacing this part. If it happens outside of the warranty period of the vehicle they will charge you for the part as well as the shop labour. I have heard that some dealerships even charge a diagnostic charge of usually $60-$90 or more whether it’s done under warranty or not. Pellerin have been paying anywhere from $350-$900. The sad part if that these valves are defective and will fail again in a short time. I hope the Autozone part has the issue fixed. Remember Toyota Dealerships aren’t Toyota they are a privately owned facility that has Toyota vehicles on the lot and has Toyota trained Technicians that perform repairs and maintenance on Toyota vehicles. 99% of these shops will charge outrageously high for repairs. A $200 oil change is not unheard of. The dealership we bought our new Rav 4 from has shop labour rate of 1.5 hours even though they do the oil service in less than 30 minutes.
till it reaches normal temp that you know it is not going to overheat, thanks for sharing
Good. Job. Brother. Congratulations
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Do you have to test the solenoid before installing?
if you want to you can
Is it okay to drive briefly with a bad transmission solenoid?
yes you can but it is no recommended since there won't be any hydraulic pressure by the specific solenoid n that can cause damage to those gears control by that solenoid. stick to low speed n avoid hard acceleration.
@@mairasan-ud5ih it appears to be shift solenoid A would that be first gear? Its a old gs400 with a p0753 code. Thank you so much for the help!
@@mairasan-ud5ih that is what I'm doing right now...slow acceleration... and now I know what's the problem. It was also mentioned by my mechanic with solenoid shifting code by using his obd scanner

If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or ig or where?
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! unfortunately I don't have money now but I will keep it in mind so let you know when I'm ready
Does this apply for a toyota tacoma?
yes they have the same way to be tested as long as they are one pin solenoids. thanks for sharing.
if you use viber or something , kindly let me know and let me communicate with you ?

my car is toyota belta 2008 ,how can I do pls?
in a professional transmission shop they should diagnose the problem
@@mairasan-ud5ih already diagnosis by work shop and they also done check error log alarm and they confirm no issue in transmission solenoid and they try cable line cleaning and check ..but still not ok.. problem is not always show "engine check light " .. after drive 10/15min (it seem engine hot time" ,then stop car and key plugout/in and drive again ..then no more engine check light at that time
only show "engine check light " when drive first 10/15 min ...that is why confuse solenoid issue or cable issue .so complex now
@@minnzawoo6710 bring it to the dealer so they can diagnose the problem.
washshop found solenoid alarm in diagnosis check and with this engine light sign , gear shifting from P to D is just abnormal and if lever speed high , speed can't get normal..
they should be able to fix it, other wise bring it to dealer or some one who knows how to.
my car already checked by washshop..but they said solenoid is good .but every morning I drive around 10 min with engine check light and after 10 or 15 min , I stop car and then key plugin and drive then engine check light is clear and driving speed is normal ..
probably it is failing intermittently, check wires, try cleaning it, now if the issue is mechanical in the tranny then nothing will fix this until rebuild it, only way to check it is by opening the oil pan n test it physically.
@@mairasan-ud5ih oil pan is auto oil cam pls?
Hi Sir.. if this transmission shift solenoid is faulty , it can clear sometime on engine check light pls?
sometimes it will, sometimes it wont, but the problem will still be there.
Unfortunately, you used the wrong type of transmission fluid. You used the Toyota WS fluid. This transmission requires the Toyota Type T-IV. At 8:14 of your video you reference the fluid specifications and it clearly says to use Type T-IV.
WS fluid is designed for sealed transmissions, so it doesn't need to be checked or replaced regularly, WS fluid is formulated to protect the seals and o-rings in the transmission, WS fluid helps maintain proper fluid pressure in hot weather. WS fluid can help promote smooth shifting in extreme temperatures Resistant to corrosion and rust, WS fluid is chemically balanced to help protect against corrosion, rust, and wear Compatibility, WS fluid is compatible with Lexus, Scion, and Toyota vehicles that have a World Standard Transmission, in other words WS (World Standard) only means a transmission fluid that lasts longer than T-IV But you can use it as well. thanks for sharing very appreciated.
Hi there I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla with a bad shift selenoid a circuit from what the obd scanner said I’m trying to figure out which of the 3 is it to have replaced with confidence
what is the code?
this is solenoid num. 1 with a Violet wire next to solenoid num 2 which it has a BR-Y wire, thanks for sharing.

Hello, very Interesting what year is your sienna?
2004 2006 3.3 process to remove engine is the same from 2004 2010
Great video, I will be trying this with my newly acquired very nice condition 1998 Avalon soon. Thank you!!
Question: Does anyone know if a second market valve is worth it. If I buy an oem valve, it would most likely be as defective as the original, since they both are produced by Toyota. Does anyone make a good one?
after market ones also work most of the time but in some cases the check engine L will stay on, and normally they don't last as the one from Toyota does
@@mairasan-ud5ih Thanks so much for getting back to me. I'm just afraid the coolant overflow valve on my corolla with 27,000 miles on it, may fail. And why would I want to replace it with the same. Makes you wonder. Thanks again though.

There's no part 2?
hi, it is coming out next week, thanks for sharing.
Just what I was looking for. (If you can test the shift solenoid with a car battery)
This is excellent information. I'm working on a gen 2 highlander 3.5, and the process to access the bank buried beneath the cowling & intake plenum. (1,3,5). Quick question: Does this test indicate whether a coil might struggle at higher rpms?
yes you will see the difference if you test 2 of them, one that you think is fine and the one you think is failing, if this is true but if not, then you might have a different problem.
Just had to leave my comments - thank you for all your very fine details, the best ever for 1.5T injector replacements, well at least in my opinion.
thanks for sharing and happy Holidays
What do you know about the P0770 (2000 Sienna)? I believe it’s a solenoid underneath the battery tray causing it.
shift solenoid E, yes in the direction of battery tray going down, test it before replacing it, if it is fine check wires, if fine, check inside oil pan to see how every thing looks inside there, thanks for sharing
@@mairasan-ud5ih I have P0770 on my 2001 Toyota 4Runner, checked solenoids and solenoid E (the one which is toward the front of the car) was not clicking. I ordered it from Japan and now I found your video. That new solenoid clicks once but like you said it would not click anymore even after 2-3 mins, I also installed it into the body and it still doesn’t click, but I figured if I hold it certain way the it clicks all the time even outside of the body. Is that also a bad solenoid I bought from Japan?
Thank you. It is very easy method but you didn't clearly show how the ignition coil is connected to the battery especially the spring side black cable where it is connected ?
thanks for sharing, it is connected to nothing.
Great video! I had all the same problems on my 2018 accord 1.5T that you had. I also had misfire codes on all 4 cylinders and it would go into limp mode. Did this twice. I have 147k miles on mine. I finally changed the spark plugs. I was going to do the fuel indicators, but they sent me the wrong ones. I had to send them back. While waiting for the right ones. I started running Lucas and gum out to no avail. Then I switched to sea foam at every fill up and did a bottle of high mileage sea foam and it’s been great since. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
great job and thanks for sharing.
Did the seafoam fix the problem? How many bottles and fills did you do before it fixed?
Thanks for the info, the single pin solenoid videos I've seen have a olms reading of 12 olms to 15 olms, so I was getting confused. This video helps
Is there a repair kit for the automatic transmission???
it depends on the area where you live you might find one but around where I live they don't sell any overhaul transmission repair kit neither at the dealer or auto parts stores, only individually, online you can find one.
@ yea that sucks because it cost $300 for just one solenoid 🤯🤯🤯 from where I’m at…
Gracias por este tutorial fue lo mejor sin tu ayuda no lo hubiece hecho
gracias por compartir Amigo
If your transmission solenoid does fell, will it always cause your transmission to not go forward and reverse?
in some cases yes, and some times hard shifting, shifting delay and some acceleration problem, it also will depend on what gears the specific solenoid controls.
are all the lexus and toyota cars shift soldnoid under the oil cover??
yes they all are in the same location, in the valve body.
Love your videos boss. currently my lexus is300 2002 doesnt shift correctly from 1st to 2nd gear i have code P0753 i just changed the trassmission fluid but code is still there ? what should i do take it to a shop a see if they change the shift soldnoid. HELPP PLZZ DONT WANT TO MESS UP MY CARRR THANK YOU VERY MUCH
yes I think the shop should inspect it and see what they come up with so the issue is solved.
@ my mechanic said I need a new transmission should I try to change the solenoid first?
@@Chavatradezz you can test the solenoid first so you can see if it is working or if it is defective before going for the another tranny

How do you test the two pin solenoid?

Do you think I have a bad solenoid if I was just driving along and the transmission lost all the gears and fluid burnt - would this be a possible solenoid? I can’t get it to go into any gear even manually adjusting the front.
I'M sorry to hear that, scan it first n see what you can find, usually a bad solenoid will trigger a code but in some cases it does not, hopefully it is not the tranny, also see the condition n level of the fluid at the time of the failure.
