Thank you for making these - really helpful!
I'm glad you found them and that they are helping you.
thank you so much for making these available online. I’m a precept leader in South Carolina and listening to your class is very encouraging to me.
You are so welcome! This is an encouragement to me as well! Are you currently leading a PUP study yourself?
Thank you Miss. Peggy!! :) See you also in 2 Timothy
Can't wait!
I know these are discussion video. Are the other videos you email, is there a fee?
No, there is no fee to be part of my study. You do need to purchase the workbook. I send video links to both the discussion video and the lecture video to my students each week.
I am studying Isaiah right now with a local group, but I also watch your Isaiah videos as well. I appreciate your videos and your teaching 😊 Thank you Peggy for your knowledge and time ♥️
@@mrslucievest that’s great. So glad these videos are working well with your studies. Isaiah is an amazing book!
@@mrslucievest I am so glad these videos are helpful.
Are the videos something you have to buy also?
Yes, the lecture videos we use are by Kay Arthur through Precept Ministries International.
If you are part of my study, I send links to the discussion video and the lecture video each week.
Great analogy with the $5M check.
Thanks. I’m glad that made sense to you.
Thank you for posting...I'm presently taking this class, am under the weather and cannot attend today...SO this is surely a blessing. THANKS again.

You’re welcome. What part impacted you the most?
Thank you Ms Peggy Payne😊' appreciate your time and using God given gift in taking us through the study. Indeed I am being Blessed through these deep studies .
13-18V True wisdom can be measured by the depth of a person's character, you can evaluate your wisdom by the way you act. Foolishness leads to disorder, but wisdom leads to peace and goodness. When we are tempted to escalate the conflict, pass on the gossip ..careful and winsome speech and wise, loving words are the seeds of peace. God loves peacemakers(Matt 5:9)
The tongue gives us a picture of our basic human nature, we were made in God's image, but we have also fallen into sin. God works to change us from the inside out. When the Holy Spirit purifies a heart, he gives self control so that the person will speak words that please God.
Our speech should be consistently glorifying to God. We shouldn’t use one vocabulary or one tone of speaking at church and a different one at home or on the job. Like a spring of water, our mouths shouldn’t send forth fresh… and bitter from the same opening.
“Spiritual gifts are for strengthening others.”
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21)
To not stumble in word shows true spiritual maturity.
James provided a way to measure spiritual maturity for teachers and for all Christians. Jesus demonstrated in Matthew 12:34-37 that words are the revelation of the inner character.
Verse2,3-What we say and what we don't say are both important. proper speech is not only saying the right words at the right time, but it is also controlling your desire to say what you shdn't .examples of untamed tongue, include gossiping, putting others down, bragging ,manipulating, lying and flattering.
Verse 1 Teaching was a highly valued and respected profession in Jewish culture, and many jews who embraced christanity wanted to become teachers, James warned that although it is good to aspire to teach, the teachers responsibility is great because their words and example affect others spiritual lives.
22V: But be doers of the word, and not hearers only: We must receive God’s word as doers, not merely hearers.Jesus used this same point to conclude His great Sermon on the Mount. He said that the one who heard the word without doing it was like a man who built his house on the sand, but the one who heard God’s word and did it was like a man whose house was built on a rock. The one who both heard and did God’s word could withstand the inevitable storms of life and the judgment of eternity (Matthew 7:24-27).
James quotes Jesus often throughout his epistle and sticks very closely to Jesus' teachings. The Sermon on the Mt. was such a radical, vastly different message. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to have sat on that hillside and experienced it. The message is still radical and we do well to continue to heed it.
17V:God’s goodness is constant. there is no variation or shadow of turning with God. 18V:Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth: James understood that the gift of salvation was given by God, and not earned by the work or obedience of man. It is of His own will that He brought us forth for salvation.the will of the good God brings: salvation to us, as a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.
If we continue to keep this in mind throughout all of our Christian life, we will remain on the right track. It is all from God and we never deserved it. The free gift of God, grace, is the basis for it all.
@@peggypayne9937 We are so priviledged and Blessed that He picked us all 🙌. You are right when we sustain and acknowledge this gift in our lives we will surely remain on the right track.
Demanding extra signs was an indication of unbelief. Fear often makes us wait for more confirmation when we should be taking action. visible signs are unnecessary if they only confirm what we already know is true. Today's the greatest means of God's guidance is his Word' the Bible Unlike Gideon, we have God's complete revealed Word. If we want to have more of God's guidance, don't ask for signs to become a substitute for God's wisdom that comes through Bible study and prayer.
We definitely need to keep this in mind. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit and the full Canon of Scripture, unlike Gideon. It is so encouraging to see him go from hiding in the wine press to not asking for more proofs and signs later in life as he acted in obedience.
Gideon showed that he had a weak, imperfect faith. For such a bold, life-endangering mission, one might understand (and encourage) his request for one sign (fulfilled in Judges 6:17-21). But asking for second and third signs showed that his faith was weak. Yet the LORD was still merciful and gracious to Gideon. “This is an outstanding example of God’s Gracious patience towards His children whose faith keeps wavering at times.'
Yes. It is kind of nice for us to see someone more like us who can waver and be afraid, yet can also be used by God in mighty ways.
Such an encouraging study as we deep dive in.. thank you so much for taking us through these lessons🙏God Bless your ❤
Her life challenges us in several ways. She reminds us of the need to be available both to God and to others, she encourages us to spend our efforts on what we can do rather than on worrying about what we can't do.She demonstrates what a person can accomplish when God is in control.
Great observations on Deborah! She was unique yet still an ordinary woman used mightily by God, as any of us could be if we are available and obedient.
Deborah's story shows that she was not power hungry. She wanted to serve God,whenever praise came her way, she gave God the credit. She didn't deny or resist her position in the culture as a woman and wife, but she never allowed herself to be hindered bu it either. Her story story shows that God can accomplish great things through people who are willing to be led by him.
Thank you and appreciate Peggy Payne for the detailed study 👐
Despite the efforts of Israel's judges, the people still would not turn wholeheartedly to God. They all did whatever they thought was best for themselves. The result was the spiritual, moral and political decline of the nation. Our lives will also fall into decline and decay unless we live by the guidelines God has given us.
Repeatedly we see the nation of Israel sinning against God and God allowing suffering to come upon the land and the people. Sin always has its consequences. Where there is sin we can expect suffering to follow. Rather than living in an endless cycle of abandoning God and then crying out to him to rescue, we should seek to live a consistent life of faithfulness.
Very true. Our situation here in America parallels these times of the Judges so closely. It is easy to justify our own sins and then point fingers at others. "They" are the problem. Yet, we need to be very intentional to examine ourselves closely. And as Kay points out so well, we cannot say we are entangled in a sin we cannot defeat. The victory is our faith. We have no excuses. Plus, as you are saying here, sin always has consequences and it always affects so many more than ourselves. The ripple effects are felt by others.
