it's funny that the tool you've used to create text corresponding to what you are saying seems to have been made by somebody who speaks english with an american accent judging by the errors I see in that text. Notice that that makes this tool fairly useless for you. You saved a few minutes over doing it right, but when I couldn't understand what you said neither could this tool. I didn't notice even one time when it was useful for me.

It was really helpful. I learned something new today. I would like to suggest something. Instead of using the shape builder tool for those unique shapes, we take a circle and make its two nodes the corner and adjust the other two curved nodes accordingly or we take a rectangle and make two of its nodes curved. The shape builder tool, when joining two shapes, creates inconsistent nodes and because of this, the upper puzzle piece does not fit perfectly in the bottom puzzle piece.

I have renewed interest in inkscape.

yes, it was very annoying for a while. too many nodes were being generated after using shape builder tool and it was sometimes altering the geometry of the shapes as well.

Once again you have taught me some great techniques. I didn't realise "Join with straight line" could be used to such great effect.

It would be interesting to compare the markers method with another, for example "Pattern along path".

Just found your channel and it looks like a great place to learn Inkscape. So trying this design and I am having a problem when you cut the path. First when I draw the first line down works like it should. The second horizontal line I click on the center point but the two line do not become one shape. Then when I try to cut the path it tells me one of the objects is not a path and can’t compete the Boolean operation. Where am I going wrong? Thank you for your help.

Very good tutorial; thanks. Did you break the radial symmetry of the figure on purpose? Just asking, because I prefer a version that looks the same no matter how it's rotated (in 90-degree increments, of course). In other words, all crossings are opposite their adjacent crossings, over vs under.

I have downloaded inkscape 1.3 and installed. But when i draw any shape e.g square etc it has default opacity = 0 therefore while drawing on screen nothing displays. After drawing i set layer opacity to 100 % and after that the shape is visible. i checked out every possible cause but can't find anything. it's parent layer or page default opacity also is 100% what should be the reason behind it can you tell? i have already tried reinstalling inkscape several times but the problem persists.

Great channel! Had Your What's New In 1.3 vid recommended. There's now shape builder templates too. You can select when You start up Inkscape in the dialog box and probably too under file -> open template, or whatever it's called, and they actually have a Celtic knot template, but it's that classic triquetra/trinity knot, rather than this more dara knot style Bowen knot, and I really like how You did that, and also that You pointed out how buggy it is, that there's lots of unnecessary nodes everywhere, but like You said, it's the first iteration of the shape builder. The new flatten and fracture functions are great too!

I really like your feature icons. We should have you make those for the release notes, so cute!
