DAWbench Radio Show : Episode 05: The Art of Orchestral Sampling : Audio Bro - LASS and Beyond !
Great show! I am very happy that I can listen to these DAW related topics, discussed by people in the business, and that some puts the effort into making it happen! Thanks, guys!
Thanks for keeping this show going!
Very interesting conversation. I have been working on the same Core 2 Quad/WinXP32bit computer for years because of the PCI cards that I will never sell, and these are: RME 9632 (DAW audio), ESI Juli@ (system audio), 2xUAD-1, TC Powercore MK2. I also have a second, already "modern" computer with a USB 2.0 interface and until today I thought that I was the only one who noticed the regression in the matter of interfaces. You can't talk to anyone about it, because everyone is guided by trends, not realism. But I wonder about one thing. What is the point of updating drivers for Windows XP? After all, it is a dead system, for which no new programs (except Reaper) or new hardware are released? What is updated in these drivers?
everytime i have a client that has Cubase, i get him a i5 12500/12600 no ecores only 12 threads and thats it
I missed taking showers without you talking in my head guys )))
Haha, this one was the happiest)

Great editing, Vin. Those noise removal plugins do an amazing job.
Listening to your guest appearance on 'Moore's law is dead' channel, I agree with your thoughts about the questionable direction that Intel is taking their CPU architecture and how their CPU's didn't get that hot but were struggling to hit or exceed 5GHz. In saying that, I think like everyone I wasn't sure what to make of it when it first came out and despite its short comings, I still believe there might be at least 5 or more years before it matures into something worth while ??? I'm not against any company that throws paint on a wall and tries to create something that's strange, but great. For example, I noticed Apples own CPU architecture M1 & M2 has a bit of Intel & AMD layout, but obviously without AMD's infinity fabric & 3D layer stacking with great performance results. I have often wondered about the size of a chiplet when all it does is carry instructions. Instead of Intel having a tile layout of 'E' & 'P' cores they can have for example a total of 10 general cores where on idle one core is active and the rest are parked and as the work load increases then more cores are used, but then again I'm sure they would have thought of that.......
How come this does not have more views? This is incredible and historically important!
Rest in Peace, Dave...
RIP Dave Smith.
Bless you Dave.
Unless they change the ui to something more modern and predictable there is no future for pt

Always a pleasure. :)
Think you guys should have done better research. You could have atleast known more about the type products that Presonus has been putting out, and what's going on. I also don't know why the host got snarky when Matthias answered about in regards to adding surround sound support. Plain and simple it has to be voted.
Nice podcast. I especially enjoyed hearing the historical timeline. The software architecture discussion was cool too, even if it was pretty light. For the benchmark, I really like the idea of recording telemetry of packet processing times in a benchmark launching a headless project player from the command line. Good luck getting all the DAW manufacturers to sign up to add the hooks though... but maybe. Is there a command line way to play a bitwig project without the GUI already? If so, at the very least we could track user/kernel time per core and memory usage non-invasively. That could at least work universally. I might give it a whirl. Anyway great discussion. Thanks a lot.
Awesome! Excited to see this new channel. The episode was super fun. :)
