Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
Please change settings to top quality (e.g. 1080p). Here I do a water change using gravity to drain and fill the aquariums. I also utilize a high powered pump to siphon the debris on the bottom of the tank. Hope you enjoy, more to come soon. -Greg

Check me out on instagram @ GVB Discus for regular updates! Lot’s going on and lot’s of fry (be sure to check out the Batik Eruption x Piwowarski Red Turq pair with their fry!!).... so much that I had to put two 70gal tanks on the floor for some emergency space for growing out a large batch of fry. I’m going to try to make some water changing videos soon, I promise. Any questions please ask!

Been slacking with the videos.. sorry. Will be making some soon to accommodate some video requests. I am in the process of turning my barebottom 120gal into a decorated tank. In recent events, my batik eruption discus took home grand champion, best of show, and 1st place in discus at the American Cichlid Association contest at the Aquatic Experience in NJ this past weekend. Thanks for watching!

Not a bad setup. It needs to be revised to be perfect but pretty cool. I would extend those pipes away from your foundation More put a French drain in along that path. Also I would stick your hand in there. Stir up all the feces and all the fecal matter and everything with a brush or a wand and stir it up into the water, then drain the tank. That way, you get both, you don't need to siphon.Just stir it up.
Great setup. 👍
The tds of my tap water is 500 plus. My locality is borewell dependent water supply. So how do i keep discus with so high TDS levels?. Do i have to use RO?
should 1 dip fix the problem or can you do again after a few days on the same fish
Wow
Septecemia I meant. I have african cichlids that like to fight
Does pp work on septecepia?
Did you unplug your heaters (in the tank)? Looked like they were still on,. Thanks for sharing 😊
Pretty cool setup…
Fish slave 😆 all this work just so we can look at fish.
When you do a water change is it RO water that you are putting back in.
You still do your thing in Jersey?
Wow!!!!!!! Amazing discus and amazing water quality in your room. Good luck with everything.
Hi please can you tel me the sizes of your tanks and gallons that’s in them ! I’m just returning to the hobby of discus, I won’t be having as many tanks as you but if my small fish room can be anything like yours then I shall be very happy 👍 but your quite right in starting by purchasing quality, I have just liked and subscribed and any help or advice will be much appreciated regards Paul from the Uk 🇬🇧
Hi, thanks for your video! Really answered my question! I have kept discus from Discus Hans since I was told he is the only one that sells stendker discus that can “survive” hard water (tap water). Then i found out discus hans/stendker stopped breeding fish. Just bought a 125 gallon, planning on buying more discus, didn’t know where to buy any discus tgat can live in my tap water, until I watched your video!
Is that ro water bro?
What about straight well water that’s aged
Beautiful fish I would like to have a couple but I live in Connecticut it's too far
Thanks for sharing
Love your set ups. Great information

i cant wait until i can tell alexa to start suckin too
do you use city water or ro/di water thank you Joe H Navy Seabee
My Tap water pH 6.5-7.0,TDS 27,KH 4-5, GH 2 ,are this parameters ok for discus breeding ?
How do you acclimate your Discus to the RO water from your tap water when breeding? Thank you in advance really need your experience with this
Best and quickest way to **INSTANTLY** neutralize PP is with hydrogen peroxide.
When some one ask me, you keep fishs? I usually say, fish keepers don't keep fish we just maintained water.
Great videos bro
During your first attempt at raising discus did you do any medication during the first 30 days fry hatching? If so please make a video? I’ve seen your Potassium Permanganate videos but I need more details if possible . Your video and Jack wat leys discus videos inspire me to become a small scale breeder
aged water changes, consistent parameters, and cleaning all sides of the tanks are the best medicine :) i try not to use meds or treatments when it's not necessary
My tap water TDS 226 ppm. Is it suitable?
should be okay
Your knowledge appreciate me to keep discus. Thank you Sir.
Thanks for sharing your setup and processes. I’m hoping to set up a discus tank for the first time soon, so this is very helpful.
Does the clear water by jungle work since it has it in it
III outgoing t 🐶 II toutou tttt ouiiiD
The brown means it's finished working. DO NOT ADD MORE!
the brown means amount of PP used was exhausted, it does not mean that it has “finished working” and there’s no need to add more, please just stop, you clearly have no idea what youre talking about
I have killed fish using hydrogen peroxide. Not safe to use with the fish in the tank.
Perfectly safe if you don't overdose like you did.
.32 gram as Mr D explained in a 5 gallon bucket. It's less complicated than trying for a bath for 4 hrs ( 2 mg/ Litre or .076 gram per 20 gallon for adult discus/ 0.95 mg for fry.
I'm glad this is old. A 4 hour bath in it should kill them. Check out jack Wattley Discus folks. The PP color change tells you when the PP is done.
you used the word “should”, meaning you either dont know or havent tried, and i have done it many times and they dont die. so maybe dont comment on things you dont understand, or just listen to your buddy Gabe who’s setup is much different than a single tank PP treatment and see how that works out for ya, best of luck… to your fish
Any videos on filtration? Thanks
so the targets is around 16ppm for 3min bath. am i right?
Any advise on a discus head standing? Thanks
I have never used fish medication. I use salt with my mbuna but only if some have physical injuries from fighting. I worm my discus but only every 3 months. I think Australia's tough quarantine minimises a lot of diseases and pathogens.
Where can I find the quick connection to clean the bottom of the tank i checked Home Depot can’t seem to find it
Great honest opinion which I fully agree with. I don’t need to test my water the fish are my test kit. I keep mine at 30 degrees is all I know. Quick question do you find the sponge filters are sufficient for filtration I notice in some able you only use sponge filters.
Do your aquariums only have spongefilters or have they also an other filter??
23 Celsius is 73.4 Fahrenheit - that’s the lowest temp I’ve ever heard of
i keep at 28 celsius… hopefully i didnt say 23 by accident lol
Hopefully you can let me know if someone from the Bronx is going to buy him some fish and you can send it to me like last time, you have my number. I want 2 of those that count 200 $
I need to buy some of those beautiful fish, sorry to be in the Bronx.
When I lived in Edinburgh in Scotland, the water was PH7.8 coming straight out of the tap. Then if you left it standing after a week it reduced to PH7.0. With large water changes it was not practical to try to lower PH anyway. It's more important to have clean water.
Don't listen to social media! Really, that's the key to life these days!
Don't matter, just keep stable! Why can't people understand this?
