The ECSTASY you are talking about when we will join with G-D in The-World-To-Come, can perhaps, be illustrated by a man on the OUTSIDE (of the woman), connecting with his female mate! IOW, you need this convenient fiction of - OUTSIDE/INSIDE - in order to seize the aforementioned idea.

Look at the notion of - "there is nothing outside of G-D" - like this: if you look at the idea that the Creator is the one providing you with your perception and self-awareness, and that everything you see OUTSIDE of you is really G-D hiding behind the veil of Nature - then, there is ONLY G-D!

Maybe the idea that we CANNOT do anything by OURSELVES has to do with the idea that BEFORE you can enable an action, you have to be AWARE, or more precisely SELF AWARE, in order to do it! And Go-D is THE Being who is - the source and SELF-AWARENESS, itself!

Why can you NOT know G-D? Because you have to ABSTRACT from Him to a higher or deeper level, in order to do that. And you cannot, because He is the ULTIMATE ABSTRACTION!

Perhaps the SELF-AWARENESS you mentioned, refers to the CONSTANT ABSTRACTION to a higher or deeper level of understanding, and THAT - exists without time!

Why can't FOREVER simply mean --> continues WITH TIME --> to ETERNITY & ENDLESSLY?

On the point of - WE HAVE TO GET ALONG - it's not enough to smile, sing, hug, and dance together, you need to truly respect everyone's point of view even if you don't agree! IOW, even if, and ESPECIALLY, if the individual does not follow YOUR PROTOCOL, or have your knowledge and training, you should still respect that he has done his due diligence and is trying to correctly teach you something! DON'T make the mistake of asking: Who are you? What do you know? And what right do you have to an opinion on this subject? Realize that when a person says: I think . . In my opinion ... And, in my view... They are transmitting knowledge - to the best of their ability - and that should be acknowledged as such . Keep in mind also, that just as you cannot and should not differentiate between mitzvahs, so you should not differentiate between one part of the Torah and another.

When you say that there is NOTHING OUTSIDE of the Creator Himself - perhaps G-D illustrates this by creating a world in which there is - YOU - and everything else! But, the point seems to be, that even this OTHERNESS is still YOUR perception - which is part of YOU! You gain an interesting perspective in the Succah, where you are surrounded by and IMMEDIATE ENVIRONMENT that promotes sense of ONENESS with the YOU that you constantly, are aware of! IOW, you gain a realistic perspective of what it says: that G-D made a world, and put it in your heart - and then put YOU in that world!

Can you say that a TORNADO is like the FINGER of G-D, illustrating His force and power in directing judgment and mercy? And a HURRICANE demonstrates the pasuk in the Siddur where it says that G-D is terrible out of his Holy places? The above have some remarkable properties which describe what I mentioned: a tornado can be up to a mile or more wide in the funnel, cause EXTREME DAMAGE by moving buildings from one local to another, and putting a piece of straw into the bark of a tree without the damaging it! A hurricane is extremely violent on the outside, and calm and peaceful at the center - demonstrating the notion that G- D it's terrible out of his Holy places!

An old friend of mine told the story of being in the “eye” of a tornado as it was forming on the ground. She n her husband n brother in law were visiting a new home development construction site on a Sunday when no one was working. Dreaming of maybe of buying there later. Suddenly the wind picked up n big heavy machinery started moving on its own. The trees “bent” over. Her brother in law realized n screamed to run to the car. They got out of that area n drove away like crazy. When far enough away they looked back n saw a tornado had formed. They were IN the Eye as it was forming on the ground!

I am an observant woman, are there any Torah prayers I can say for his heart and his eyes and his mind to be open to Hashem and Torah. Thank you kindly

A very clear and powerful shuir. I wonder if Rabbi might expound on the Torah sources for this idea of the self. Although I believe it, there is so much confusion around this duality of the yetzer hara and hatov and people using the idea of “an animal soul”. I think a separate shuir on the fundamental and then how everything got “mixed up” would be great. Example- my problem has always been that I have one experience and so it didnt make sense to put things in terms of hatov hara. This shuir and others like it has finally reconciled it- my self is the entity that is choosing between ra and tov…and I guess the other angle is how the self is embedded into the soul…most people - including me - have no sense of this. I dont know if I could even say that I sense my soul as a separate entity or even that it acts as a lens. If the Rabbi could explain these subjects, I would be most grateful.

Wouldnt chava’s sin also be in the name of goodness? She saw it was good for food etc? Can we really say it started with the erev rav? Bc to me, this is the pattern that happens just before the final stage as a final test- if they hadnt sinned, it would have been onwards and upwards…if Israel didnt sin at Sinai, you say Moshe would have been…in a way this is one of the most powerful tests bc you need to calculate. You need to think…is this actually good. It looks good on paper, I can see how it could be good, I can’t foresee any obvious negative consequences…eg both chava and Israel knew what they were doing might be wrong (they had the information) and somehow convinced themselves to do the wrong thing anyway. I personally feel like its a mistake to place all the blame on the eruv rav. Nobody was compelled, each individual who participated chose. The problem is in the choosing….
