@Iceskatingsisters . Hi. How many hours do you practice per day and per week?? Can you practice at the Hayes Ice Rink in Alexandria or at the Vermont Recreational Center to do more freestyle hours??

@@arf2847 I’m not familiar with those two rinks? The girls are pretty different in what they’re trying to accomplish. Evy wants to be competitive so she generally skates 5-6 days a week and probably 4-6 hours a day plus off ice and she does virtual school. Liddy wants to be in Disney on ice and she still goes to public school so during the summer she skates a lot but during the school year maybe 2 hours a day or so.

We do some times but there’s only so many hours in the day. Last year we got quads and the girls could do doubles in them but they do prefer the inlines. Quads are a lot harder and considerably different than inlines and the inlines compliment their freestyle ice skating.

What level does she skate at? If she’s just beginning I’d suggest just an inexpensive pair of roller blades to see if she even likes it. The skates our girls wear for inlines run about $700 where as a starter pair of roller blades would be $100.

That’s at the Waterfront Park in GeorgeTown. Our *Favorite* spot is probably around the reflecting pool in the summer or on it in the winter. 😊

That’s definitely between where the splash pad is and the green and white maze pattern brick work is at the waterfront park. DC has some of the coolest places to skate for sure. We post a lot more of our in-line skating around the dc area on our Instagram profile : ice_skating_sisters

There isn’t a drastic difference in terms of what you can do jumps and spins wise between the two levels. Juvenile is just another level up so more competitive.

It actually wasn’t bad. It was the last day you could skate on it so it was right around freezing.

@@Iceskatingsisters I see. When you say it was 'the last day', was it due to environmental causes or legal causes? Can doing this get me fined?😰

It was the last day cold enough to do that. The pool has a filtration system that constantly moves the water so it’s gotta be really cold to pull that off. We went at sunrise so there was no one around and the ice was too thin for our dad to get on it (but he’s a really big guy). Yes you can get in trouble for skating on it. It’s under the national parks authority and they would prefer people skate on the constitution pond and not the pool. Not sure why though. if a park authority sees you on it and they ask you to leave and if you comply nothing will happen as far as we are aware. If you don’t comply…. Well type in helicopter used to scare reflecting pool skaters into the RUclips search feature and enjoy 😂

@@Iceskatingsisters Ahh, thanks for that information! It looks really fun but I think I might have to find another place. I know places where there are bodies of water so when it gets cold enough That's the first thing Im going to do! 😄

Our dad skated on it as a kid so he kind of felt like it was a right of passage. We will definitely do it again if it gets cold enough 😂 You could always just build a rink in your backyard like we do every winter ruclips.net/video/ZNE1coiGGvc/видео.html
